Watching yesterday's match I could not help but notice how dirty the scrum are. They may not give away fouls in dangerous positions but in your half to just after the centre circle they will put in some bad challenges. Capoue got injured because Cazorla was trying to protect the ball with his arm and Flamini is a red card waiting to happen. I was just wondering why it never gets picked up what a dirty side arsenal are.

I don't agree with the Capoue point. To me that was just accidental.

Ref was awful yesterday I thought.

My main point of contention was if he thought the Flamini challenge was a foul then it had to be red as he gave the foul due to it being two footed.

Didn't give us a thing, and blatant yellows like a foul on Capoue when he was hit with a knee high tackle that were not shown.

One that wound me up at the time was Ramsey tugging Dembele back when we were on the break. I know it's just the everyday cynical foul you expect a midfielder to make around the halfway line but it really did wind me up as we were on the counter. I don't think he got a yellow for it either.

Ref was shit. Just shows how scared they were of us to adopt Stoke's style of play. Haven't seen such a deep scum team since G.Graham was in charge.

I remarked in one of the threads yesterday that Arse have gone back to their old spoiling tactics.

Those take down challenges just out side their centre circle is the drop zone. Rosicky did two tackes, the first he got away with but for the 2nd he was carded - All the other defenders were doing the old Vieira "stop and regroup" tackles.

Having said that I thought my beloved Spurs should have found a way around it and unforced errors didn't help either.

You know how last season we were good at beating good teams, but rubbish at breaking down bus parking teams.

Scum are now the latter, albeit with 2 pretty awesome CAMs in Ozil and Cazorla..

It used to really annoy me during their unbeatable time how pundits used to go on about the beautiful football while they were also one of the dirtiest teams I've ever seen. How many red cards did they used to get? I don't remember but it was more than average and Viera was the worst of all. It's definitely Wengers fall back tactic and what a joke he is after the way he has criticized the likes of Stoke and Bolton.

I thought it was - they played like an away game and we played like they were Fulham ;)
That's exactly what is was. We pinned them for stretches, did the square root of sod all and got caught on the counter a couple of times. Even the atmosphere was quiet and tense as if it was a home game for us.

Uncanny.

Not jus thta tit was slow and turgid from us most of the time... Arsenal were snapping at our heels very quickly and yes not always fairly, but we allowed them too by being too static and not moving the ball on quickly enough.

Possession is one thing, but we were too slow with the ball.
