Didn't see it at the game. Watching that clip makes it seem something and nothing, bit of handbags that the guy barely reacted to.

I don't think he is a particularly nasty player, just think it's something he developed in the lower leagues to protect himself. Think we are in real danger of blowing this out of all proportion and him gaining a rep as a bad boy which I don't think he is.

He dived earlier in the game and I said to my mate 'He's lucky he wasn't booked for that, he'll probably hit someone later'. Never lets you down, our Dele.

Didn't see this at the game. It's all a bit meh but it is stupid.

I turned to my Dad after 5 mins and said it looked like he was being deliberately targeted by WBA and he'd need to be careful. It obviously all got too much for him.

I actually thought he was pretty poor tonight. The media love bigging him up and there's no doubt he's a prospect but he's got a lot to learn IMO. Not just from a temperament perspective but also how to get more involved in games and influence more. It will come though, talent is there.

He's got to be smarter with his nasty, or at least make it worth it. Like the silly fucking kick against Fiorentina.

Walker's fucking lucky too. Idiotic kick at Rondon in front of the ref.

Problem is he's used to getting hacked to bits and having people in his ear all game long in the lower leagues where he can give it back and the cameras won't catch it all, or at least if they do, nobody will care. He'll grow out of it eventually, but in contrast to others, I'm hoping he avoids a ban even though he probably deserves one - we're going to need him to beat Chelsea and make sure we secure second.

I'll be expecting Hodgson to come out and say it wasn't a punch at all, just an understandable reaction to Yacob's foul on him.

Whilst I agree 100% with this, at least Walker's saving grace is that Rondon swings his leg at walker first which is what he reacts too. I don't understand how professional footballers consistently do such unprofessional things and that's footballers in general, not ours in particular.

Haven't seen it but Alli is young, his aggression is good but he needs to learn the harsh lessons others have. You can guarantee a Pulis team will push all the buttons. Lessons learnt now will, as others have said, hopefully be vital when we hit Champions League next season

Yes he should get banned.

But if we're talking about West Brom how come absolutely nothing happened to Mclean when he made a potentially leg breaking challenge on Dembele back in December? Where is the consistency?

Anyone remember when Chris Morgan fractured that Barnsley player's skull with a ridiculous tackle and the FA couldn't do anything because the referee saw the incident? Seriously that has got to be one the stupidest rules ever made by a human being.

yeah stupid, but the Baggies were chipping at him all game long. I think three fouls were called in the first 10 minutes. The ref kind of let it go after that. Fuck Pulis.

Should get a ban. He's needed a lesson, so this has been a long time coming. Just happy it didn't cost us an important game(s).

Gotta say the ref needs to shoulder some blame though. Players were going over the top and he should have given more warnings to players on both sides.

Haven't seen it as I'm on the Pacific coast at a work thing so no chance (weird assumption that everyone has seen it btw). If he's been stupid enough to punch someone during a hugely important game then hopefully he learns from a deserved ban. We may be lucky enough to get away with that ban staying in this season and therefore not really impacting us with the title gone.

Mystic @Dougal , what are my lucky numbers?

;)

I joined end of second half so missed the incident but the 1/2 time talk was highlighting it. You could see Alli was being provoked and the ref was blind to it, but damn what a tool to risk it all. I hope he learns from this

Hahah what? You're all a bit soft in this thread tbh, there is fucking nothing in that at all.

ooo you're such a fucking hardman!

Seriously, we're not pissed at the punch, it was weak and deserved. We're pissed at the stupidity of the lad for throwing it.
