Fuck it, I'm packing in the day job and reinventing myself as a cultural digcomms music guru. I'm pioneering a new genre called Transfer Death Thrash. First influential band of this genre to be called Emoji Head Fuck. Get with the groove dadio

Don't know what that is, but if you need a rabble rouser (Bez) character, I am in.

Not that I agree with this valuation, but it does make me look at this window in general, in context of some of the deals we've allegedly pulled out of on the back of Poch saying it's more than he values the player at, namely Pereira and Foyth. Poch supposedly said he wasn't interested at that price, but when you take into consideration the value players are going for, are Poch's valuations still in line with the current market? When Kyle Walker is £50m, Benjamin Mandy is £50m, Gylfi Sigurdsson is circa £45m, Micheal Keane is £30m etc etc. Is £20m for Pereira really overpriced? Is £13m for Foyth really overpriced? Is £25-30m for Barkley really overpriced. Had we secured those players a week or so back, would we still have this current situation.

Overpriced is an abstract concept.

3 days before the start of the season when our squad is wafer thin mainly due to our own failings in successive transfer windows?

Damn right I would.

Well you are a fool and thank the lord you aren't running the club.

De Ligt was the standout player of Ajax by far. Sanchez looked imposing but with a very bad positioning. His pace allowed him to recover from his own errors

De Ligt with only 17 yrs old was so much better

I'll have both players, please. :)

He impressed me during the Europa League Final. But 35 mill? come on..

If we get him, I doubt we will agree on that fee.
The fee usually starts high but after negotiations, it will drop. Then we have the added figure of Daniel Levy to lower the figure even more. :D

I've seen him play once - Europa League final - thought he looked uncomfortable on the ball myself and it was clearly a tactic of morinho to let him bring it out and then pressure him into giving it away, so interesting to hear others say he's a great passer.

What isn't in doubt is that he is strong, powerful and quick

Well you are a fool and thank the lord you aren't running the club.

The way we conduct ourselves in transfer windows no longer works like it used to.

Our behaviour throughout this window is what leads to things like paying £30m for Moussa Sissoko, and if you think it doesn't cost us points in the long run then I'm afraid I can't help you.

No idea who this guy is but I really hope we sign him so I can rename him Jim Davidson-Sanchez. This will make me happy.

Big question is will Danny Rose know who he is? If he doesn't we shouldn't be signing him
Do we have an official list from the scouting department of all players known to Danny? Only 3 weeks left in the window, someone better get on that!

I honestly don't see us spending this kind of money that will potentially cost what Dier, Vert & Toby came in for combined. Then for him to sit on our bench.

The financial landscape has changed beyond recognition in that time. Wouldn't surprise me if he got plenty of starts as well.

Also there may be two lines of thought here: Dier currently covers CB, RB, and DM for us and a lot of our tactical flexibility is based around him. If you can get a player and trust him to fill one-two of those roles, take the weight off Dier then maybe you make that punt. Still doubt 35 but I could see us spending 20-25. Even more so if we're going to miss out on most of our RB targets.

I always thought we might take a punt on Dendoncker to cover for Dier in all his different guises but don't hear anything about him these days.
