Would love this to be true full of potential. Sadly it's more than likely rubbish Levy won't be spending £35 million on anyone for a good few years!

He is a class act, did no one watch the Europa League final? He was Ajax's stand out player for me almost anytime I saw them.

Would love this if true, but there's been a lot of interest in him from a lot of clubs.

Best compliment I can give him is that he reminds me of the King.

De Ligt was the standout player of Ajax by far. Sanchez looked imposing but with a very bad positioning. His pace allowed him to recover from his own errors

De Ligt with only 17 yrs old was so much better

Over the whole season Sanchez was extremely impressive. De Ligt is an incredible talent though.

Would think if we were interested we'd be offering £20-25 million. That's big money for Ajax (don't mean that to be patronising) as they work on another financial level in the Dutch League.

He'd be well worth adding IMO. Looked absolutely brilliant when I've seen him play.

35 million seems a bit steep but it's the Sun, they've likely found out about the link but have no idea on the financials, probably just guessed.

Absolute sh*t rag of a paper.

Perhaps the loan of Onomah out and bringing this guy in would reinforce Dier to be used as mainly a midfielder this season.

Valued at £35m but Levy is apparently only going to offer them £25m.

Sounds about right.

Prices are hugly inflated at the moment and the fact is that if we need to buy we will need to shell out. We can't simply rely on scrabbling for players whose contracts are running out. To compete with the best we occasionally need to compete for the players we really need.

Very pleased you don't do the negotiating on behalf of Spurs. You'd just pay whatever the selling club wanted regardless of cost and impact elsewhere.

I honestly don't see us spending this kind of money that will potentially cost what Dier, Vert & Toby came in for combined. Then for him to sit on our bench.

3 days before the start of the season when our squad is wafer thin mainly due to our own failings in successive transfer windows?

Damn right I would.

He's one of the biggest defensive prospects in the world. If we want him, we'll have to pay the money. Levy has obviously had a lot of success with Ajax and I think the clubs have a good relationship - this would be a real coup to get over the line.
