What's new

Danny Ings

Most of the links even say we believe a deal is unlikely or not possible so it's most likely an open and shut thread.
Right, so a thoroughly pointless link haha.

This all feels really really familiar.

My God, stunned to realize he's only 28.

Honestly, not a bad shout for an option, although I don't see him fancying the opportunity too much if he even remotely fancies himself any chance of getting into the Euros squad. If he's reasonable and views it as highly unlikely though, maybe he'll take a shot at a good payday and European football.

I'm shocked, I thought he was 34+. The price makes more sense now.

Well this makes sense as its probably the only way we can get something against them this weekend, if we take the best player they have.

This is the dumbest link of the window so far - he basically kept Southampton up last season, they would want at least £50m and as we know we aren’t paying even half that.

unfortunately this link makes me think we’re flapping around again with no viable targets.

Welcome Troy!!!

Not sure if Ings would want to join us, unless it's for the dosh. As he wouldn't be playing nearly as much as he would at Soton.

I'd actually be stoked if we bought him in, as I was really impressed with how he played last season. Was - dare I say - a bit better last year than Kane.

And maybe that's what our talisman needs. Genuine competition. Not just a 'backup', but rather someone who migh threaten his place.

If we could get him then there is little doubt it would be an excellent signing - but Southampton would be completely mad to sell him, he is irreplaceable for them. There is a 0% chance of it happening this summer, I’m not ITK but I will happily put my bollox on the line

Don't see much point spending big for a striker like Ings unless we're going to fix our midfield too. We've got fucking Son and Kane up top and create nothing for them.

more chance of me wrestling a giraffe to the floor with my bare hands and changing my name to nighthawk than this happening

He was Kane's strike partner in the England U21s, which is how I always remember they are a similar age
