Phillips has been injured and has played less than 10 games at championship level, what reason is there to assume he would be better than Royal at CB?

Main one being he is a natural CB trained to be a natural CB than Royal.

I know we’re playing 4 non cb’s but our defence looks like it’s never played football before let alone in defence.

Vicario the only massive massive plus, absolutely world class keeper.

Richy does at least look hungry for his next goal, Johnson and Son well off it mind.

I think outside Vicario the only positive element of that half is its 2-0 instead of 4 or 5 which it legitimately could be.

True but we know we get the same outcome with Dier there.

The young CBs I can see why Ange isnt using them.

They would be alongside Davies, another makeshift CB and they dont have the likes of Bissouma and Bentancur in front of them so it will leave them exposed.

And a bad game could really hinder their progress.

I just think they need to come in when the situation is more stable or alongside Romero or VdV

I just don’t see why PEH is getting such stick, yes he’s not great, but he is a long way from the worst performer on the pitch

I don’t think he’s been bad on the ball, but he’s not showing for it, which is disrupting any rhythm we’re trying to find. Not that anyone else is doing any better. We will continue to lose games playing this way and not having Maddison, Bentancur or Bissouma.
