After watching the wembley cup, I have to say that I liked the look of Bostock and Livermore and have a warm feeling about Rosem who all showed glimpses that these 3 can really threaten the first team squad this year.

It would take a very brave manager to play these and count these players as first team squad members, but they do seem to have some raw talent that would be good to let loose this season.

Rose is left footed, has a bit of pace and showed glimpses of being capable of putting in decent delivery. I would prefer him to play wide instead of Ohara, as although Ohara doesn't give it away very often, he doesn't create anythign either, whereas you do feel that Rose is capable once he settles a little bit to be a good player on the left side. I have seen him play more centrally but for me wide left is his natural position.

Bostock, is techincally a very good player and plays with his head up beign able to spot a pass, he one of those players that has that ability to create, again provides real balance to a team and looks like he could be a very cultured footballer. i really like the look of him.

Livermore was the biggest surprise for me, having not seen him play that often. he was always looking for the ball, looks strong and plays with energy.

Now I know the games were only friendlies, but there will be times due to injury and suspensions that

Ohara will be playing either out wide on the left or in the middle, personally I would prefer to see Rose / Bostock played ahead of him.

Also there will be times this season that Palacios/Jenas struggle for form and pass badly and Huddlestone might be considered not mobile enough. Livermore and Bostock both deserve a chance then.

Maybe a loan spell woudl be better for them, maybe playign them will mean less chance of success, but I would find watching them more entertaining than watching Jenas and Ohara just going through the motions.

It is about time one or two of our more mature youth make the step up. But in a gradual manner, not the usual Spurs way of crash or burn.

Our crowd isn't the most patient or forgiving either so I hope that the management handles these lads sensitively and patiently.

A good start to our new campaign would be the basis of bringing in one or two of them for a few minutes on the park in a positive frame of mind.

out of the 3, Livermore looks like the one who has the qualities to make the breakthrough

I was impressed by Bostocks tidy passing in the cameo against Celtic.

I'd say Bostock looks the best footballer out of the three. Livermore is a great physical specimen but it's gonna be tough for him as he essentially does the same job as Wilson. Rose I like and would like to see as Modric's full time understudy this season.
I can see Bostock taking over from Jenas/Vieira in a couple of years as our first choice central midfielder.

All look good but having been a regular at the u18s and reserves for a few seasons now, unless something has dramatically changed I think Bostock needs at least 6 months on loan somewhere first. Maybe over the summer he has knuckled down and improved a lot, but over the course of last season he struck me as a big of a prima donna who was capable of something very good but always did it at the wrong time, and in general as the season wore inhe became quite a dull safety first player. Hopefully the player we saw v Barca and Celtic is more accurate and he has developed

Livermore I liked a lot before his injury. I first saw him in a friendly v Stevenage and then v Porto, and he did not look out of place with the first teamers when he was just 18 or 17. He is strong, has a lick of pace, size, is pretty mobile and able to get about, and he complements that with a good (ok, not Huddesque) range of passing. I reckon he'll get game time this season.

Rose I'd like to think could play a role this season. He is quick, a good crosser of the ball, can beat a man and has an impressive pass on him too. He, like Lennon, also works bloody hard to help his full back. On top of all that, he is a goal threat from the wing, always getting into good positions. The contrast with Lennon is that Lennon, when the ball is on the left, will usually hang about the outskrits of the area so that if the ball is headed out or goes straight out of the pentalty area Lennon will put it back in quickly or even have a shot. Rose is more likely, when the right winger is on the ball, will make a run into the box and support the forwards, much like Modric was doing last season when he started having more chances at goal, usually off the back of Lennon crosses.

I have high hopes for Bostock, a very grounded individual and was impressed with his displays for the youth team in games against Chelsea and Charlton especially. If anyone didn't see his goal at the Valley in the FA youth cup check it out, he has one hell of a left foot. I agree with BBLG he may very well need to be loaned out. He played 4 league games for Palace, whereas one of our potential targets Fabian Delph has played over 40 games for Leeds. We also have Dean Parrett who i was impressed with against Shakhtar.

If BringBack_leGin is right then Rose is our man. We need goals from midfield more than anything else.

I hope all three get a few starts and lots of sub appearances this season. Really gear them up for next season.

Funny enough I was chatting to a fella at the gym who goes to a few of the classes I do.

He's a former trialist with Spurs - wears Spurs training kit for gym even though he's a gooner fan (disgusting which I've told him!) - and he's good mates with Jake Livermore and said he's just signed a new contract.

Probably not interesting in the slightest but made me feel slightly ITK for a bit so though I'd post it! :)

Maybe I ought to see if I can get any gossip from them...

Bostock is the man for me.

But more than the other players mentioned, Dean Parrett is the one that I think is going to be a true superstar.

Bostock - 9 - Will definitely be a top player

Livermore - 7 - Good engine but his passing/awareness aren't great

Rose - 7 - Has to work on his first touch but has good potential

I've only been to the Spurs Arse youth cup semi final but Andros Townsend was the one who stood out for me.

Yeah I liked the look of Andros Townsend but a loan at yeovil suggests he isn't ready this year to play.

Mason also looked tricky but his size is an obvious flaw, so again would expect next summer to challenge the first team squad members.

Don;t know much about Parrett to comment.

I don't always believe that players that don't stand out in youth are not ready for the first team. I know Bostock has his critics in the youth game but he has great ability in my eyes and maybe their is a school of thought that woudl presume it would be better suited to try and challenge himself more by playing in the premiership. If he is arrogant I don't see a loan out will help him, he needs to be thrown in. But we will see.

Talent wise Mason is head and shoulders above all of them. He's not short, he's just weedy. Taller than RK I'd say, seen him 5 or 6 times. The boy can hit a shot from all angles and distances, he can pick a pass long or short, his control and first touch is excellent and he has pace too. I've got my heart set on him being our long term little man up front when Keane and Defoe are both on the scrapheap. He's barely 18 I belive, but give him 2 or 3 years and I think he can be a name on all our lips.

There may be a significant point to be made about Bostock. He is now in the 1st team roster on the official website. Derviette to.

If mem serves me right he was always under the academy/pros roster.

Roster?

That language belongs in throw ball :p

(note the tongue pokey which indicates that I'm not being confrontational)

Would be interesting to see if Bostock makes any first team impact this season. The 7 or 8 times I've seen him he does not look anywhere near ready aside from some flashes of brilliance, but maybe this summer he has honed his abilities really well.
