From what I saw of him he was alright but way to slow. Hope it works out for him else where.

No, me neither.

But hey, he's been treated shabbily here and he's got a great move. Seems like it might work out for him.

Yes he needed the first season to settle. I do believe if he stays people will see the player Mitchell liked, and said would replace MS at Southampton if he was there!
I would like him to stay and so would the players. But depends on him and if he wants to go.

I liked his attitude but he was too slow and if he stays at Spurs he's never going to play

...And he arrived with no preseason. That never helps.

I do get the feeling he's a well-liked and popular chap, so it's nice to have you confirm that.

Bit surprised to hear you say 'if' he goes though - got the impression he was being pushed out, and would be very surprised if anyone would turn down PSG to stay with us!

I know it's optimistic but it would be nice to think that he's working hard enough in training to change Poch's mind. :)

I personally wouldn't mind him getting a second season if all our other targets are falling off the radar. There is considerable talk that Ali is exceeding initial expectations, so could come into the 1st team mix sooner than many fans expected. Maybe having Stambouli around for another year may be better than going out and buying someone else for the sake of it.
With a full preseason could he show to be the player that Mitchell allegedly believed would have been Schneiderlins replacement at Southampton, had he left last summer.

Reality, Schneiderlin isn't coming, the other 2 main contenders, Kramer we've heard very little concerning his transfer status, and Rabiot has been declared not for sale, only a loan with no option to buy. We want loan with option to buy, West Ham are reputedly happy to loan only, then PSG want Stambouli. So if we can't get out players, by keeping Stambouli, we may also scupper West Hams dealing, as PSG are less likely to loan if they don't get Stambouli, considering they've already sold Cabaye and are rumoured to be letting Thiago Motta leave.

Yes from what i hear he is well liked by the squad and coaching staff.
He has been doing well and came back Fitter than last season. So as you say with a whole pre season he would of been a different player IMO.

I only say "IF" as i dont know about his transfer. I was told that he wasnt sure about joining Watford, thats why it was taking a while. But maybe that was because he was told about PSG? I just dont know thats why i said "IF" :)

Can't understand why we'd keep him when Poch clearly doesn't fancy him. He had numerous opportunities to involve him more last season and didn't. It couldn't all been down to fitness and no pre season. Poch just didn't rate him enough IMO.

I'd expect Poch has said to him that he'll have limited playing time if he stays, unless he's had a massive change of heart - which I seriously doubt.

I really don't agree with letting him go. Reportedly Marseille were deeply into him but we nabbed him. Now PSG want him (to replace Cabaye?).

What are we missing here?

Just realised that this move means he'll never play for Marseille, his boyhood club. He'll be public enemy number 1 there now, having signed for their old enemies...Marseille roots aren't likely to endear him to the Parisians either...
