Stoke...?

Do you live there now or does your ex husbands new missus, come from there... ;)
Ha! Just never forgiven them for the Chris Foy game. Bunch of rugby playing dirty orcs.

Quite like Everton & Sheffield Wednesday tho’ ( just to prove I’m not only a grudge holding hater) ?

if we win on Saturday, I'd more likely rub it in the faces of gooner friends and family before I tried to contact 1 or 2 Liverpool fans.

I was born in goon territory but brought up in Hornsey bottom of the Ally Pally. in those days you either supported Spurs or Arsenal, and will always be the team I wish misery on, on a match weekend.

the other 91+ teams in the UK are only rivals the day we play them, or if they have an effect on our finishing position. I grew up at a time when Liverpool pretty much dominated and enjoyed it when they lost accept when playing Arsenal, Wet Spam or Chelsea.

my dislike for them is they way their fans are, and just as they finished dominating we had Hillsborogh and Hysel both changed football. English clubs banned from Europe (though Hysel was final straw) and stadiums going all seater

I remember before social media was much of a thing, I didn't really care about Liverpool one way or the other. Yeah you always get their plastic fans everywhere but for the most part they barely registered. But after so many years now of seeing their obscene levels of arrogance in online discussions, I've ended up where I can't stand anything about their club. But still, rivals, no way. They're just a team that competes at the same level as us. If either of us became mid table we wouldn't even be having the discussion. Scum and Chelsea will always be our rivals. West Ham well not rivals as such but the level of their hatred for us means they're always gonna be the third of the unholy trinity.

Mind you, if we win on Saturday Liverpool fans cult will really start hating us for preventing them to fulfill their destiny, yet again, of becoming the greatest club in GB. Will they vilify us more than Manu or Everton? Most certainly not, but we most certainly will enter into their black list (though Kane, Dele and Lamela already seem to have their names there printed on stone).

It's one of those temporary rivalries. I think it comes more from both of our teams wanting to break into the top three or four PL teams. Liverpool, have been erratic for years until Klopp. As have we until Poch. There's definitely some interesting parallels.

Winning or losing against Liverpool won't mean anything more to me than winning or losing a final against Bayern, Barcelona, City or Ajax. They're just the opposition on the night. If we win, I won't give a toss that it was them we beat. Switch them, Ajax, Dortmund and City around in a different order to win it and it would be the same. If we lose, I won't care much that it was Liverpool either.

Try to imagine this final was against Arsenal. One or other of us would win the European Cup for the first time and the other would never hear the end of it. Ever.
