I think you guys missed his point. I think I know what the OP is reffering to.

Take the amount of shots he is taking for example, the rather audacious efforts he had from like 40 odd yards out at old trafford and his shoot on site policy.

Now you could take this two ways. 1) his willingess to shoot and make something happen / score.

or 2) The way I see it. The "im not going to pass to my team-mates method".."your not gonna do shit with the ball".."im more likely to score from here then if i pass the ball to you".."im better then the rest of you, so ill single handedly try to make something happen because I have little faith in my team mates".

I can totally understand where the poster is coming from. The frustration is clear. Yes VDV is a winner, but then why would a winner like VDV want to stay at spurs? If things continue this will be his last season as a spurs player, no doubt.

With Bale and Lennon offering nothing and Crouch never making any runs his shoot on sight policy is understandable really.

As others have said at least he's running for the team and looks like he cares which is more than can be said for the likes of Huddlestone and Lennon.

His attitude isn't the problem. How we fit him sensibly into the team is the more pressing question.

I watched him chase down Clichy/Lescott/Barry/Yaya on his own while they passed the ball around him at one point in the 2nd half when we were 3 or 4 nil down. His attitude is not in question.

Exactly. And he's arguably the one player in our team who shouldn't be having to do that. In his 'free role' he's supposed to be our luxury player if anyone. But until Livermore came on nobody else was chasing anything.

I'd say that attitude wise only VdV and Livermore really did their bit today.

If point 2 is his thinking, he's 100% bang on. I'm shit at football, but on this form I think I'd shoot on sight rather than pass to Lennon, Crouch or Modric.

I can't wait to see how we line-up against Wolves. Got a sneaky feeling Sandro might be back by then. So with him and Parker sitting deep, Bale on the left, Lennon on the right, and Ade and Defoe up top we could look like a completely different animal. If Modric is still here, he can make a 13 second cameo off the bench.

Absolutely, no probs with his attitude

Building a team round a bloke who is clearly never going to be 100% fit? More of a problem

Van De Vaart does work bloody hard pressing players the goal keeper down I wish the rest could do the same. Bale is starting to become a lazy fuck Crouch doesn't close down don't think he can move his legs quick enough the rest are just damn lazy its embarrassing at least Jenas and Palacios worked hard off the ball.

What I didn't like today from VDV was when he pulled up, he just walked off the pitch.

This is true, nothing wrong with showing a winners mentality and trying to inspire some fight into your team-mates. Regardless, some of his efforts have been quite ridiculous, and i think he has wasted possession on a few occasions.

I look forward to seeing him play off Adebayor.

i saw that too, last bit of the match i saw so i guess it was when we were 3 down, felt sorry for him actually, he was chasing them while crouch, defoe and huddlestone were standing off and watching

VDV will be OK once he starts to work with Adebayor and sees Levy, finally, making headway in the T.W. with the inclusion of another experienced player, last season's journos player of the year. This is why 'Arry's wanted Parker for a while now, even Bellamy and Neville, 'cause their fighters even if they do get ridiculed by some of the brighter lights on here.
Until we get that bigger stadium we unfortunately are always going to be overwhelmed by teams spending the really big $$$$$$$$ no escaping the fact, sadly.

I don't understant this

I'd be annoyed if he wasn't annoyed at what happened today, I would have acted exactly like him, probably worse, not that acted bad at all though.

What TS86 said is bang on though and I mean about Bale/Lennon not offering anything, that worries me more a lot more than VDV.
