From D1 on COYS Alec Scott has been on clubs radar for 2 years now and its possible we sign him but its not the highest priority , we shipped 63 league goals last season so there are going to be 2 if not 3 center half coming in now

As I have said its highly likely Holberg goes we have concrete interest from Bayern and athletico he does not fit Ange system , Ange wants to have a look at gill, glc and tangy pre season but bearing in mind bissouma is injury prone and Rodrigo will not even make the bench until mid/end of sept then there is a good chance 2 new midfielders will come In as well, Ange will want 6 high energy midfielders , 2 who can sit and 4 in the bentacur /maddison role there must be 2 players for each role

kulu was seen as a bit of a punt fantastic first season not so good second we are paying 30 million over 6 years and he is young with a high ceiling so we took a punt but depending how things pan out do not be surprised if we splash heavily on a top forward /winger to make up the 3 with H and son
Don’t get me wrong, forwards are always exciting, but it would be odd to splash the cash on another top winger when we have son/Kulu/Richi, unless it looked like someone would pay up for Kane. Would much rather have Gil or even Porro cover that spot and get a top CB and someone like Scott in for midfield depth

Good forwards can win you games but bad defences can ruin entire seasons

Most likely Kulu will be played as one of the no8. Richarlison isnt considered a winger. So there is a space for a winger.

Is Bissouma injury prone? Is this an example of someone conflating a single serious injury (ankle fracture) with proneness to persistent injuries?

I said earlier that as soon as we are linked with a striker/forward then I’d be sure we are spending the Bale money again……

People questioning why are we looking at winger/forward. We are already hearing talk of Son being a target for the Saudi league next season. Makes sense to succession plan as we could very easily at the end of the season lose Kane and Son. Then our attack is back at square 1 and we will be held hostage by selling clubs

Can't knock succession planning. As long as it doesn't impact us signing quality defenders, planning the long term and keeping an eye on the market for long term replacements for Son and sadly probably Kane if he is off next year, can only be a good thing.

Being proactive in what we need is a nice change. Whether that is Scott or someone else on the list.

I can’t see us doing anything with him till we tie up our other business. Hopefully Tapsoba, VDV and Lavia.

Could sign him and leave him there for the season. Doubt we'd have the money though if we go big elsewhere.

I suppose it depends on how we do shifting our deadwood.

Imo Sanchez, Lo Celso and PEH will all have decent value. Tanganga wee could get a small fee for.

We got a good few for Winks. We have addressed two areas and essentially spent less than 50 million.

Personally Id love to see both Scott & Lavia join us if we could pull that off. 2 incredibly talented young players.

I like the idea of having young players hot on the heels of more experienced ones.

Bissouma/Skipp
Bentancur/Sarr
Maddison/Scott?
Son/Solomon?
Kulusevski/Devine

As long as being “on their heels” doesn’t mean they don’t get any time to play and develop. We’ve had a bad habit of keeping players as squad depth, giving them very limited minutes, then wondering why they barely develop after a few years (KWP most notably).

Bristol City are getting good offers for him, and as things stand I think he'll end up in gold. Nothing set yet but Wolves pushing hardest as of this morning. We are 100% still holding an interest and monitoring the situation, but I don't see us moving for him until others are moved on, if at all.

Shame, but I look forward to us bidding £60m for him in three years.

We have this perfectly worked out: Wolves buy him. He steadily progresses, until he reaches Maddison's level in four years, which just happens to be the season Wolves get relegated. He has 1 yr left on his contract, and we poach him for 40m.

(I really should stop going to clairvoyants!!)

Seriously though... good move for Wolves. I just hope the lad will get a chance to play.

And let's face it... every single transfer for a player like this is a risk. We thought Clarke was going to develop into a very good player. But things happened, and he didn't get the chance to develop. Turns out, to some extent, we were right. But... the timing was wrong.

As suggested, we have bigger eggs to fry.
