Sad news about Gilly's passing. Saw him play many times when I was a kid and he was incredible. He would just drift into position and flick the ball into the back of the net. RIP Alan.

What a legend, best header of the ball I have ever seen. Nice man too, had the privilege of meeting him on several occasions. Last time at Jimmy Greaves 75th birthday party.

A very sad day. Gilly & Dave Mackay were my earliest Spurs heroes.

RIP, Gilly, thanks for the memories. Have a drink with Dave & Sir Bill tonight.

Glad to of met and spoken to him, and been in his company. Him and ‘Super Chiv’ were my idols in the right sense of the word

A fantastic player. The best in the air that I have ever seen.

I'm glad he had made his peace with the club and we got the chance to show him appreciation again.

RIP

Devastated. I actually blubbed when I saw the news. My favourite player from the time my old dad first took me to WHL in 1966.
Don't think I've ever seen anyone with his heading ability since. RIP big man.

Such sad news, gave me some great memories back in the 60's. The way he seemed to drift into space & glance the ball off his head into the net was a joy to behold. RIP

Sad day as another Spurs legend passes. He was a joy to watch and who can ever forget the 'G-Men' in their prime! Thanks Alan
