I'll cheer on both sides. It's a charity game, be for a laugh and fun. Should bring out the tricks and flicks with hopefully plenty of goals. Why cheer on one side over the other? All these footballers on show will have played for us at one time in their careers. I'm going to enjoy it as there is no pressure on either side. Like a kickabout in a premier league stadium. I've only ever been to 'proper' matches (league, cup, preseason). Never been to a testimonial/charity match before.
It will be a right laugh. You'll want the underdogs to do well (Ledleys xi - just), but it will be good. Just wonder how the professional matches around it will effect who turns up. WC will deter a number of current players.

Nah I don't think so. These games are usually people walking/jogging around going into light tackles. Can't see players being afraid of that. They would be more likely to bottle a league game towards the end of the season if there were any doubts in their minds.

You think? I would expect them to be scared of going outside, let alone playing a non-competitive match.

Not sure if its been said, but the majority of our first team wont be playing, Bale, Modric either as Spurs and Real play on the 11th.

VDV has a chance, the bundesliga finishes on the 10th.

I get the impression they haven't disclosed who will be in Ledley's team yet because it'll just be full of retired players, and feel that Ledley alone isnt a big enough draw.

It is for me, i dont want Bale or VDV to be there, the night belongs to Ledley.

Any chance of Berbatov?

Players that won't be going to the world cup

Brad
Naughton
Rose
Fryers
Dawson
Kaboul
Chiriches
Lennon
Eriksen
Siggy
Capoue
Holtby
Carroll
Kane
Ade
Soldado (likely)
+all the kids so the current squad will be quite unafected by the world cup

ex-players still playing......not many greats to welcome back but Keane wont be at the WC and Berbs has fixtures so won't play. I'd expect to see the likes of

Robinson
Carr
Anderton
Ginola
Sheringham
Freund
Sherwood (oo last game at the lane!)
Les (last 3 dependant on when Levy sacks people at the end of the season)
Vega
Redknapp (ouch)
Poyet
Chimbonda
Ginger Pele

Whoever turns up it should be fun- looking forward to it. Would be nice if there were a few ringers in there, old enimies - thinking Henry and Terry but that will never happen!

It'd be nice to see Naybet there given the influence he was supposed to have had on Ledley's development.

Can't imagine he lives in the UK. I would think most players that take part still live in the UK and are those that still kick about with the Spurs old boys

If Ledley literally had one knee he'd still keep up with most of those...

Is it bad that Brad Friedel looks too old for this squad?

I bet Ledders can't stop pinching himself, that THFC have rewarded him with such a magnificently planned and thoughtful game.
