#thfc will stage a testimonial game for Ledley King at White Hart Lane on Monday May 12, kicking off at 8pm. Spurs legends v first team

About time the Club did this for one of our only modern day legends. Long Live The King.

We are delighted to announce that The Ledley King Testimonial Committee will be staging a match at White Hart Lane to celebrate Ledley's career on Monday May 12, kick-off 8pm.

Our Legendary former captain will lead a Ledley Guest XI from his playing days against the current First Team on what is sure to be a special night of nostalgia and excitement at the Lane.

Good causes chosen by Ledley will also benefit and will be announced shortly.

The former England international made 323 appearances for the Club during a career which saw him lead the team to League Cup glory at Wembley in 2008 and help secure Champions League qualification for the first time in our history in 2009-10 before calling time on his playing career in the summer of 2012.

He has since spent the past two years as a Club Ambassador and has worked closely with the Tottenham Hotspur Foundation to support a number of projects aimed at creating life changing opportunities for people in the local community, as well as engaging regularly with the Club's fanbase both on matchdays and through specific supporter events at home and abroad.

Ledley, a rare breed in modern-day football in being a one-club man, is relishing the prospect of stepping out onto the pitch at the Lane one last time for this showcase fixture.

"I am delighted to be given this game by the Club," said Ledley. "It will be an extremely emotional evening for me, especially to play again at White Hart Lane in front of our amazing fans and I will savour every moment. This Club is so special to me and I hope that the fans can share in what will be a great night."

Chairman Daniel Levy added: "Ledley is one of the greatest players to wear the colours of this Club and we look forward to recognising his great service and loyalty with this game. It will be a memorable evening for everyone."

Keep an eye on tottenhamhotspur.com for further updates on who will form the squad for the Ledley Guest XI

Oh man this is gonna be epic, I wonder who'll be on the legends team. Really hope bale, rafa and hoddle are.

I would have thought that it would have been better to have it closer to the start of next season though when the fans maybe a bit jollier given that we're playing the current 1st team. It'll be another kick in the guts for those 1st teamers that the whole of WHL will be shown great players whilst reminding us how shit the current one have been!

More likely Keller, Sinton and Iversen.

If Ledley literally had one knee he'd still keep up with most of those...

Two ways this will end:

a) Either our first team will have the best match of the entire season cause that's just what we do
OR
b) Ledley teaches our defenders how to actually defend

So, just for fun, who would be the best XI from Ledley's time at Spurs?

Robbo
Carr
King
Woodgate
Assou-Ekotto
Carrick
Modric
Bale
Ginola
Keane
Berbatov

For my money.

Honourable mentions to: Edgar Davids, Jermain Defoe, Teddy Sheringham, Michael Dawson, Aaron Lennon, Darren Anderton, Rafa VdV.

Got to have Friedel in goal for some of it, made his debut against him and played with him. Made his debut alongside Freund too, I would assume he will definitely play.
