Completely agree with the first part.
I must say though I'm not sure about the second - I'm all for a great night at the lane and a chance for fans to give him a great send off etc but with the money that players earn in the modern era I'm not sure they should be making out if it - isn't the done thing these days to donate the proceeds to charity?

Think it said the money was going to charities chosen by The King.

My dad reckons this solves the problem of the mass exodus after the villa game. No one is going to want to stick around for the lap of honour so get the testimonial in the day after, so you don't have to do it.

If Ledley literally had one knee he'd still keep up with most of those...

Anderton and Sheringham look exactly the same as they did twenty years ago :D

I spose with the likes of Bale, Modric & VdV there's always the possibility of a 10 minute cameo.

Well, we can but hope.

Don't disagree
I sort of meant that he would control its destination not going into somebody else's pocket

It's be nice to get back as many of the Carling Cup team as they could for it, even the mardy Bulgarian.

In a sick kind of way I really hope Team Ledley thrashes the first team! haha!
Totally agree. Just goes to show how detached we have all become from what's happening this season.

I'd love to watch Sir Ted and Clive Allen rip us a new one.
Ledley on crutches would have Soldado in his pocket all night.
Daveed dumping Naughton on his arse.

Icing on the cake would be (a) for Bale to make an appearance, even just a pitch walk at half time, and (b) 100% our fans to show him the respect and gratitude that he's earnt.

I think he was a one club man because of his knee injury not because of any special loyalty. Had it not been for the knee injury much bigger and better opportunities I think would come up.

Not a chance in hell he would have spent his whole career with us were it not for the knees - would've been one of the worlds best defenders in his prime.

How many people will be cheering on the Ledley XI compared to Spurs first team?
Every man, woman and child over the age of 2. What I wonder is what effect that will have on the opposition... err I mean our first team. Will it motivate them to become future legends, or just leave them feeling even less a part of Spurs than they do now?

I'll cheer on both sides. It's a charity game, be for a laugh and fun. Should bring out the tricks and flicks with hopefully plenty of goals. Why cheer on one side over the other? All these footballers on show will have played for us at one time in their careers. I'm going to enjoy it as there is no pressure on either side. Like a kickabout in a premier league stadium. I've only ever been to 'proper' matches (league, cup, preseason). Never been to a testimonial/charity match before.
