Another day, another confusing offside and VAR decision.

A. Madrid on the attack, pass forward to a player in an offside position, defender lunges to block the pass, which deflects the ball towards Morata to score (who was onside at the time of the initial pass), and the goal stands.

The defender wouldn’t have tried to lunge for it had it not been for the player in the offside position… so not sure what stupid law allows that goal.

It's the same law that gave us a penalty at Anfield when Lovren sliced a clearance that sent an offside Kane through on goal.

It's a law that isn't fit for any sort of purpose but it's been around for years.
