I get the complaints about tactics, I hate the back 5 too but we didn't lose tonight because of tactics. People can blame the changes at CB, tactics etc but this came down to desire and motivation and the players fell short yet again. The same core consistently let us down. Route and branch clearance needed of the players first and foremost.
Would help if we attacked and looked like we knew what we were doing when we occasionally attack.

Yes we did lose because of tactics. We are so passive off the ball so we can barely sustain pressure against a championship’s B team. We are so predictable on the ball. We are flawed tactically. How can people not see this.
We are just shit. Shit players, shit set up, shit mind set. Great go karting track

If the players are out fought then tactics don't matter. I'm not sticking up for Conte here, I want him gone, I'm simply trying to be fair as I don't think this one is on him.

He still plays head down with no end product though. Just fancy on the eyes is all. Love his enthusiasm and application but he's still not good enough.
Absolutely. But says it all about tonight's performance that he was still our best player doesn't it? After almost a year out.

Change the manager, same outcome.....

Rinse and repeat
I've backed Conte and I still hope he succeeds. But I think many things can be simultaneously true.

Many players aren't got enough and need replacing. Absolutely.

Levy needs to step away from football side and trust either Paratici or, if he is out, Rangnick or whomever. Go out and get top targets, even if it means paying extra sometimes. And take a hit on those we need out, if he has to.

But I'm increasingly losing confidence in Conte as a good fit for us. The one thing you associate with Spurs historically is attacking football.

There aren't many top clubs in the big leagues winning with Conte-style tactics right now. They pretty much all play a combination of pressing, possession, attacking football.

Conte's style clearly can work as he's won plenty of leagues before. But although we've scored a lot this season, I think a lot of that is Kane. And we've conceded relegation-level amounts of goals, with the football being almost unwatchably bad in many games.

Maybe I'm posting in an emotional moment after today's result. But, for me, Conte/CS set us up to fail tonight.

Going away to Sheffield United and starting Sanchez next to Porro was always asking for trouble. Everyone in here could see it, so why couldn't our management team?

We let their second string build confidence throughout the game until they scored.

We'd have been better off starting our best team and then subbing players off if we were winning comfortably.

He wasn’t out best player. He ran with the ball and that was it. Looked like he was doing a lot but he absolutely wasn’t

Cash out on Conte ball – zero benefit to anyone prolonging this any more. This whole flirtation with 'winner' managers was a fucking idiotic, narcissistic move from Levy to start with. Get Poch back (inevitable) and we can get back to achieving nothing but at least enjoying the ride.

Valid points, but the shite 3-4-3 formation he’s been instilling is 100% on him.

Passive out dated football.

Even when we were controlling possession we looked utterly toothless. Our tactics are absolutely atrocious - outdated defence garbage. We will never win anything like this.

Guys he's not going to lose his job over a game he wasn't in charge.
We beat Chelsea a few days ago, it sucks now but come the weekend and next week it could well be forgotten about. We could still finish 4th and qualify for the next round of the CL. Right now it’s shocking but Conte won’t be leaving until at least the end of the season so there isn’t even any point it getting annoyed about it now. it is what it is. Idk, I’m just sort of apathetic about us these days.

Enough now. Just enough.

It’s literally all of them. All of them can fuck off.

Let's not act like we didn't lose to teams like Colchester under Poch. We didn't have a great squad then and we still don't have one. This is why we don't win trophies because we never have the squad for it. Under this regime we always leave the squad short and do the bare minimum. It's still Levy out first and foremost. I really don't care who the manager is until we sort this squad out. How on earth we have players who have never been top players in their prime still with the club beyond their prime is criminal.

I think this is where I am (although may just be a bit emotional after sitting through that).

Many of the players aren't good enough and I think Conte is limited with what he can do BUT it's the attitude that is the real problem and that IS Conte's job. He either needs to get more out of them or start playing some of the kids because the likes of Sanchez and Perisic are just not worth persevering with.

First time I have seen us for a while in the flesh, attacking wise we seem to have zero clue, the front 3 seem to have no movement , Jesus perisic is bad
I just can't see any pattern of attacking play, for 15m a year what the fuck is he doing
