Get some Vitamin D (if you haven't already).

You can currently get a years supply on Amazon for under a tenna (50% off) and they're the maximum recommended daily dose of 4000ui.

I've been around too many people, nurses, patients, carers who have all known people who have been taking Vitamin D & miraculously avoided, or quickly got over Covid, for it to be a coincidence.

I HAVE TO take them because I'm not allowed to go into direct sunlight. So I get no Vitamin D otherwise.

Worth a try for less than £10 mate.

These are what I buy.

Vitamin D 4,000 IU, Maximum Strength Vitamin D3 Supplement, 365 Easy to Swallow Softgels - Full Year Supply https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B072L235Z5/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_i_94939ACV0JVNCARP6JSP?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

Already on the Vit D. Mrs. Japhet's a bit of an Earth Mother so she keeps me topped up with all that kind of stuff!

Yeah I was Coopsieyid, but had a slight change of name after A&C said that there had been a few messages received by some members who didn't like "The Y Word". So changed, so as to not cause offence.

Deadpool is simply an attempt to lighten up the result of me killing myself in a house fire.

And that's where ignoring the world began. Woke from a coma, into a world where everyone was wearing masks because of a virus that didn't exist when I had the accident.

So if I avoid the world, I'm not affected by any of it. And hopefully people will forget about me over time & I can stay locked away in my flat, away from judgemental eyes.

It's why I'm so precious in here. This place, and the people in it are the reason I've got furniture in my home. Every possession I have, is from their wonderful donations while I was in hospital for a year. Apart from when i go to hospital, this place is my only interaction with the outside world.

And honestly mate, it's a godsend. There are so many wonderful people on here. And some of them are dealing with some really horrible things in their everyday life. But they aren't splashing their woes all over each message board. You wouldn't have a clue. And that's what makes them so special.

It sounds like you really could benefit from removing yourself from all the negativity that's out there. Even just temporarily, to see if it makes a difference. Why add to what you're already trying so hard to overcome?

It'll do you no favours!

For once, I'm not going to apologise for not being on topic, and derailing the thread. I've got no doubts at all that there'll be people who are pissed off with this.

But it could help others to maybe show a bit of understanding if you happen to post something that's out of character compared to how you normally post.

A little bit of understanding can go a long way!

And back to avoiding the negative stuff. I've had a few people over the last week on here, saying they wished they could have my positivity about all things THFC.

But it's not positivity. It's just a result of knowing absolutely nothing about anything else. It means I just look forward to our games.

And coming onto the site each day, seeing people getting worked up over things that have absolutely no bearing on their day/life, is much more entertaining than anything you'll read in the press.

Don't read it. Don't pay any attention to it. Don't be affected by it!

Hang in there buddy. You've got this ?

Blimey mate. All things considered, it sounds like you've found a perfect way to protect yourself from the horrors of the outside world and fair play to you for that. We may all disagree with each other on a variety of subjects but at the end of the day, we're all from the same family, the Tottenham Hotspur family, and the love of that football club is the thing which binds us all together, all over the world.

Your situation and mine are completely different. You have a strong handle on yours thankfully, but it's hard for me to come to terms with mine but it's very much a work in progress.

Back in February, I was banned from here for a week for a rule violation and two days after I was banned, I lost my wife Rosie, my much better half for 43 years so I'm still walking round in a bit of a daze to be honest. So many amazing people, including my brilliant friends and family are helping me deal with things, but I do understand it's a natural process, so I'm working through it gradually.

Football and particularly, the love of Tottenham is helping me no end and I'm probably more 'into it' than I've been for many years.

Tough times mate. Places like this are invaluable when things become intolerable. We can all distract ourselves from misery when we find a community that we can interact with. Some of us (me included) don't know we're born until we read stories like yours and Coopsie's.

Just to put the tin hat on things, a few weeks after I lost my Rosie, a good friend of mine lost his 11 year old grandson to cancer, so we've been supporting each other through things as much as we both can. Us humans eh? What are we like!

See @Spurslove , there's ALWAYS someone on here at hand to give a word of encouragement.

It's often total bollocks, but it's the thought that counts!

Having the strength to help others, when we are suffering ourselves is a blessing... you have that ability, and you have that strength too... be proud mate.

There's something which grinds my gears about football and I don't know if this pisses anyone else off, but when there are a few games on at the same time, I tend to watch one game and tape the others (like tonight). The only problem with that, is while I might be enjoying watching one game, the broadcasters keep blurting out the scores from the other games as soon as goals go in, which absolutely ruins my enjoyment when I come to watch them afterwards.

So I recently started watching in silence and trying to train my eyes not to look at any panels which pop up on the screen with score updates.

To be fair, based on the commentary from our last few games, crowd noise is a better option anyway.

Could try a tactical positioning of card over that corner of the screen to prevent you seeing any pop-ups (y)

I think they started doing it because some of the newspapers did get lip readers in to work out what some of the players were saying.

Customers who leave things until the last minute.
I've been waiting over a year for a customer to get something built so we can install the equipment into it. Its gonna take 3 to 4 days. He rang up Friday. Case is ready. Need it done by end of the week!!! No mate. Sorry. It's the start of summer and we are flat out until winter. I told you we need as much notice as possible! This was meant to be done in October / November!
He said well the council have only told us a month ago when we are moving out.
And how did that stop you getting your case built before hand exactly???
Do you think I'm sat around doing fk all waiting for your phone call?
Same bloody week, got another one. Installed half the kit about 8 months ago. He was just waiting for the carpenter to fit worktops and doors. Rang up Monday, its ready, can you get it done this week? No. No I fucking can't.
It was the same post lockdown. Pubs and restaurants opening up and switching stuff back on the day before a delivery or opening and discovering 'oh dear, its not working.'
If I have a very old motor, dont drive it for 8 months but I'm planning a long journey in a few months, I dont see if it'll start the day I'm fucking supposed to be setting off!
Morons.

Wrong What's Grinding Your Gears thread.

That's been doing my head in for ages, to be honest, so well done for mentioning it. Two players standing over a ball in the middle of the pitch covering their mouths as if everyone in the crowd could read their lips. Also, they must all think the whole crowd are tracking them with high powered binoculars from their seats and are just dying to know what they're saying to each other. Jesus guys, get over yourselves FFS!

I can only imagine the riveting earth shattering conversations they discovered.

Think about it from a players perspective though. Would you want your private conversations put out there for everyone to see? People moan about security cameras, devices in their homes listening to them and the Big Brother effect, players covering their mouths is just an extension of that.

I think if I was having the sort of conversations these young players are having during a match, I wouldn't think they'd be of any interest to anyone.

"I'll kick the ball over there and you go get it and give it back to me"

Also, they don't cover their mouths as they're running about screaming instructions to their team mates, so why bother doing it at set pieces?

I work from home. I turn off the video camera when I have Webex meetings or put on a virtual background. As far as I'm concerned I'm working, but there are still parts of my life that I want to keep private no matter how boring they might be to others. I don't think that's much different to a player covering their mouth while having a private conversation.
Covering their mouths while talking about tactics is a bit different as that might be to stop opposition players from finding out what they're doing.
