Not sure on him still,

Positives are he’s strong good in the air and is brave!

Negatives are he does tend to get sucked in centrally but he also does tend to switch off and make mistakes twice today it almost cost us.

I also don’t think he ever will be a Centre back, not sure if he has that composure. Was nice to see he’s learnt from his mistake va Newcastle though and did put his foot through it

I think his mistakes are the type that can be ironed out with match experience.

Like the boy
young (22), local (Hackney)
Been with us for over 10 years
not sure how high his upside is
but showing good signs so far.
Another 30+ million saved.
Let's not miss out on another
home grown right back Spurs veteran.
Plenty of room
for a bit of sentiment.
Will give his all
to the Tottenham cause.
No mercenary he.

Should play the final 2 matches if he’s fit. Aurier’s leaving, and it’d be nice to at least let Japh show what he can do after a couple of matches in a row.

I’m struggling to think of any RB in the Prem that is anything like Tanganga. He’s not agile or quick off the mark, he doesn’t seem to have the instinct for getting into the box late.

I’d put him in the same box as Onomah and Oduwa. In two years time... who?

Think he'd be a massive winner if the manager we bring in favours a 3 at the back formation, as is becoming fashionable again.

Not sure he's technical or progressive enough to be a full RB but not sure he's physically dominant enough yet to be a Prem CB in a two, so I reckon he'd thrive as a RCB with a bit of a licence to drive forward and the recovery pace to cover wide for whoever is playing RWB.

Reminds me of Wan Bissaka. He's solid defensively but very limited going forward.

Would love for us to bring in an attacking RB and then have those two rotating depending on the oppostion.

I think we should send him out on loan as a CB. Get him a solid year at a low PL club or top Championship club.
I really believe he’s got all the tools and if we have him a run of games here he would be a massive success. People are right that he’s a bit too limited going forward as a RB but using him there in certain games is wise as he’s great in the air and very strong and quick. I’d have liked to see him in a back 2 with Rodon to see if those 2 could gel as a pairing but atm CB in a back 3 is his best position, until proven otherwise

I think it's a difficult one to call.
Defenders, probably more than any other position need regular games alongside each other to build up an understanding and communicate to pass men over to each other.
With a run of games in a settled backline we may be in a better position to judge him.
I will however say he has all of the raw attributes to make a really good defender. Whether he gets the developmental opportunities is another matter

I actually think a loan next year to someone like Brighton or similar would be a fantastic opportunity

I have to lol at this thread. He's a CB. Always played there with the youth team and people are saying he doesn't get forward enough and gets sucked in centrally ?.

I think his ceiling is very high at CB. Don't worry about height as he springs like a gazelle and isn't short anyway.

Yeah I can’t really understand people doubting him physically. He lacks some size but pound for pound he’s a bloody beast
