I thought the Toby release clause had to be activated by the end of June. So all should be clear in the next week or so!

My understanding is, that it is the last two weeks of the window.

Therefore technically if a team really wanted him before that they could offer more and try and persuade him to sign before then.

I stand to be corrected though. ?

I thought the £25m clause ended 2 weeks before end of tw

I understood it to be exactly this; protects us (if that's the right phrase) from scrabbling about at the last knockings on deadline day should a team want him for 25 million, however if a team approaches after that deadline and bids more than the release clause and all parties agree then well it happens but at least we are financially compensated and able to pay over the odds for a CB should we feel the need to.

Basically it at least gives a modicum of protection.

Personally I'm all for keeping him but if something's potentially there going to fester then who am i to question Mr P? :bag:

"We are relaxed on the striker-front, and will deal in that area, but not seen as the high priority,"

Is everyone else reading this as a low cost replacement for Llorente? Presumably this one could rumble on until the end of the window as it's not a priority. I assumed we'd just go with Kane, Son & Moura so it's interesting to hear that we are looking for someone else.

Does that read as 'we are looking for someone else'? I wouldn't be surprised if e gave Llorente another year if nothing suitable crops up and he's still free. All sounds pretty laid back to me.

Also we've not managed to palm Janssen off on anyone yet... presumably the ITK about being open to bringing a striker in hinges not only on one coming available who's affordable and willing to play second fiddle, but also on Janssen leaving.

Worst case scenario we could do far worse than giving Nando another 12 months.

How could we just go with the three of them?

Fernando played a decisive role in getting us to one semi and another rather important final. Keep for another season.

Or replace with another target man, just not Janssen.

The silence about Janssen is telling. He’s become our albatross, tethered forever to our low hanging testicles

That's some good itk today. Gives me hope of a signing is coming!

CE on the brink of signing a 4 year deal is also good news

Giving Nando another year makes perfect sense to me. We could probably negotiate his wages down a bit and it gives us a year to see how Troy Parrott comes along.

At this point we should seriously be considering just letting him leave for £1m or offering him to Leeds as part of a deal for Clarke or just something, anything, to get him off the roster and the wage bill
