A few of us called this months ago, his heart isn't with it.

I suspect nobody will want to pay big money for him which is a conundrum for everybody, free in 12 months and a discontented player in the meantime.

Why is it a lesser fee because he's gone public? He's still under contract.

If I've learned anything from reading these transfer forums over the past few years it's that 'kicking up a fuss' immediately detracts 25% from a player's market value.

Keep up, Trix.

Or idiotic and misjudged. Eriksen would've surely known the reaction Pochettino had to Kyle Walker when he did similar. He's bound to have read Pochettino's book, too.

I'm not sure how he would've expected Poch to react.

The spin on the story could get people believing that Eriksen went storming into Poch's office and told him he wanted out of THFC. However, I think it's much more likely that he and Poch had a respectful conversation where they laid their cards on the table so that all parties could make contingency plans for however things panned out. Of course, that narrative wouldn't sell many papers or get a whole load of 'clicks' though.

If that’s the case then we’ll push him out if he doesn’t sign the contract.

Now I’ve got a feeling Alderweireld is about to follow down the same path pretty swiftly.

He clearly states the he’s open to signing if nothing exciting comes around. He’s probably only willing to talk to about 6 clubs in total, I reckon.

How much do you think we will get for him minimum?

Yep he’s done himself no harm - he’s alerted clubs that’s he’s up for a new challenge and if nothing comes along he fancies he’s probably inline for a bumper new contract - win win for him.

A lot of people seems to think Eriksen has had a bad season. Let's not forget how bad we looked the few games Eriksen was missing or started on the bench. He makes the team tick and has a very special understanding with Kane. Also always work hard, almost always runs the most meters per game.

I'm almost convinced United will come in and offer us £75-80m for him. His agent has said two English clubs were interested last summer. I'd bet my house on United being one of them.

Obviously, they do not present a step up, so I'm not concerned. Just saying.

This is true...he runs a lot and gets in good position to defend. He's good at finding the runner in the final third and if he has time, he can score from outside the box. These are great qualities that we'd miss. That said, he's not a good tackler, he's not good (in fact he rarely challenges) in the air, he can't dribble to save his life. He's very good at what he does but there are a lot of things he can't do as well. Good teams can negate his positives and he doesn't really have a Plan B when they do. I like him but I don't think he irreplaceable.

I'd be VERY surprised if we got anywhere near the 75-100 million being throwned around in this thread.

He has 1 year left on his deal and not as in demand as say Sanchez, RVP or Hazard was/is. I would love us to get those amounts, but can't see us getting more than 30-40 max.

I'd be very curious why so many think anyone will pay that much for Eriksen when they can get him for free in a year? Help me understand.

30-40 for Eriksen would be an absolute joke.

He has 1 year left on his deal and Madrid hardly launching a PR campaign to get him. I obviously hope we get as much as possible, but seems unreasonable to expect much more considering his contract situation.

I think we will get £55-60m, people thought we would get over £70 for Walker and he went for £50m.

Levy will get as much as he can especially for Eriksen. He won't sell for 30-40m.

If we go by earlier comments he is only interested in a few clubs, taking a step up, so there wouldn't be that many clubs in the race anyway. I hope that if Eriksen doesn't get a move to one of the clubs he wants, he signs some form of extension.

Eriksen is "open for a transfer". That does not necessary mean that he is leaving or that his asking price automatically drops 25%, as suggested by some..

Bale wanted to leave for Madrid and we got nearly £90 million for him
