Erikdad love it ha ha!

It was Trippier who’s performances were affected (:eek: ) as the baby was keeping him and his missus up. I THINK Poch possibly gave him a little time off to rest up a bit more and he came back a lot better? We had Walker back then too so wasn’t as massive a deal resting him.

I thought it might have been Trippier (y). His wife didn't have triplets last summer did she?

I mentioned in one of the other threads that Eriksen became a Dad (Erikdad?) for the first time last June. I wouldn't be surprised if this has had a bit of an impact on his performances. I'm sure one of our other players was effected by becoming a father a little while ago.

Was the 2 months he had off every other October and November in the last 4 years when he was trying to impregnate?

Eriksen is a fantastic footballer given space.

Against the big teams that has amounted to about 5 games in the last 40 or 50.

He physically can't cope with pressure, pace and power and that unfortunately is too much of the game at the very top level.

He will murder Levante, Getafe etc etc.

When he plays Atletico and Barca they will be waving the white flags.

When Hazard played for Chelsea in what was most likely his last game for them he did not play that well but still scored two goals and that is what the real world class players do they play well and they destroy you they play there average and still influence the game.
There are some on here that believe that Erriksen is world class and he is not.
If he wants to leave I say good if he wants to stay I say good but if he does want to stay we must look for an upgrade because if ever there was a man that does not perform in the big games it is him and if there is a player that looks world class against the lesser teams it is him. I await the abuse and the "you don't know about football ". If you studied the final you will know that Erriksen our world class player was inept his passing was poor and as always in any physical duel he went awol.To top it all that free kick he had was like a pass back to the keeper. He still can't get past the first man from corners but I suppose that free kick goal against Everton will keep the "Erriksen is world class "people happy .

If he does go to Madrid I'll be intrigued how he copes with the fans and media pressure. He seems a very quiet meek kinda guy

He's a bloody brilliant footballer and has been a great player for us but if he ends up being the one we have to sacrifice for a rebuild then so be it. I'll wish him well at Madrid.

If we can get Lo Celso and Ndombele over the line and improve RB then we will be much stronger even if he leaves. Similar to Liverpool post-Coutinho. Add a quality forward and we are really cooking.

Dream scenario is that we keep him but I'm not sure we can achieve a significant rebuild without him going. At least that's what I'm telling myself to soften the blow of him inevitably going!

Yep. Eriksen is the best player of those mentioned, but that doesn't mean we can't be a stronger team without him if we make those signings.

Nah, he is pretty relaxed rather than quiet. If you look at videos he is actually a pretty funny and likable. Not that being quiet is a problem with Madrid. Making no effort to adapt is.

Apparently Zidane wants Pogba over Eriksen.

That for me would be a very poor choice. I may be biased but if you suggested to most Man U fans that's what Zidane wanted they'd agree with me.

Pogba has excellent ability but too often fails to apply himself. Very hit and miss and needs to pick a position and focus to his game and use that to excel.

CE is a far better team player and consistently offers something, even when having a poorer or more quiet game.

Would be a big loss to us if he does move on.

He's one of our most impressive pressers imo. He may not be a big lump but I don't remember him getting muscled off too often. Would be a big loss if he were to go but we would adapt and be fine. Same if any one of the DESK went.

There’s a very clear link to our offensive output going down when eriksen is playing poorly. Anybody who says otherwise is ignoring what’s in front of them. The problem is he has these spells where he’s poor and we have nobody to push him. If he leaves, I’ll be upset but don’t think he’ll light la liga on fire (hope I’m wrong because he’s represented this club very well). If we could replace with Lo Celso and one other then we’d have set ourselves up well but it will be an adjustment.

So what happens if Madrid don’t bid? And he still won’t sign a new contract, because he probably won’t as he knows he will be quids in going on a free!

I think AliZ mentioned in his ITK post that we have every chance of negotiating a new deal should his move to Madrid fall through. Either way, a resolution to his contract situation should be a priority and if he really wants to go, I think Levy should cave in before we lose any value from a possible deal.

I think it’s been understood for a while that he only wants to leave for one of the two Spanish giants, Real being the more likely, otherwise he’s happy to stay and extend his contract.

Obviously we can’t yet know whether that’s changed very recently. Rumours gather momentum and you toss a coin regarding what you believe.
