Sissoko absolutely has a role to play at the club, a very big one being a part of the squad going into next campaign when we will once again be challenging on all fronts. It's tough with the teams we face but that needs to be the aim and Moussa is not just worthy of being a part of that, he's absolutely necessary for it.

55-60 games a season, we need reinforcements but Moussa will still be starting a few few of those, he's a very important cog
Love what Sissoko has done and I think he should 100% be a part of our plans going forward but there's no denying he's a huge confidence player. The difference between his ceiling and his worst form is about as big as any player I've ever seen and I really think we need some top quality to play alongside him/rotate with him as if he reverts to his 17/18 form we're fucked.

Exactly. An addition such as Ndombele allows us to rotate, which should prevent unnecessary injuries like the one Sissoko keeps getting due to overuse.

Liverpool have Keita, Henderson, Milner, Fabinho, OC and Wijnaldum who fit into three roles in the middle and it's allowed them to flourish and stay fresh. It's the engine room, the most important part to keep energised throughout a long campaign.

Sissoko absolutely needs to be part of it. Ndombele, Sissoko, Winks, Dier, Lo Celso and another gives us a healthy combination to battle through a campaign, limiting injuries and having cover.

Thats because it is simple......Eriksen is our main creator, we sell him and replace him with lo celso then we have 1 main creator.

Not sure what bit of this you lads are finding difficult to grasp.
How many creators do Liverpool have? There are many different ways to play football.

Well we're in for Ndombele which will probably relegate Sissoko to exactly the role you're describing.

Sissoko has just been selected in the fucking Champions League squad of the season. I'd suggest that there's never been a time in the entire 137 year history of Tottenham Hotspur Football Club when a player would have received an honour such as that and been deemed not good enough for an important role the following season. He may not be first choice for us in an ideal world, but Sissoko has clearly proven his worth.

I don’t think it will ‘relegate’ him if he leaves as I expect a change in formation.

.......... Sissoko .... N’Dombele ........

....................... Alli ...........................

Moura .......... Kane ............. Son

Subject to other attacking incomings.

Sissoko + N’Dombele = pace, power, strength in central midfield... they would be a nightmare to play against.

If we get Le Celso then Alli will have some serious competition too.

Ndombele, Winks, Dier, Sissoko with Lo Celso helping as and when is required sounds like a midfield filled with potential and options. A huge shame Wanyama will never be the same but he's made for life withnthe contract he got with his Spurs move. If he leaves I'll wish him all the best.

You're quite right. However I believe we can do one better than Liverpool. Match them for energy and dynamism in midfield and the full backs AND add a creative player. If Poch believes that Lo Celso can be creative and dynamic then he'd be worth every penny.

Does it matter how good he is at the Copa America? He has a set release clause doesn't he?
Talk on their forums is they should sell him prior to it to avoid a potential injury and loss of investment. He isn't going to start for Argentina. The risk vs reward to wait for the tournament to take place is pretty large for Betis.

If eriksen goes . Then bar sissoko and winks we need a new midfield. Lamela dier and wanyama can all go . Skipp needs a loan

Definitely looking at needing 3 new midfielders
I think Dier is the definitive utility squad player for a top side. He can cover multiple positions and is passionate about the club. Until he barks about not being in the starting 11, he absolutely should be here.

I don't think Alli should absolutely start next season. He was best when challenged for a position with us (With a healthy Lamela and an emerging Winks in 16/17). He needs competition. If he earns the spot, so be it. But i don't think he's earned a guarantee on it.

I agree, I know he’s been injured but he’s been poor since his return but then again you could say the same about Kane, injuries aside he hasn’t looked anywhere near as lethal as past seasons... certainly not when he hit what was it? 5 or 6 hat tricks in a year.

I’d personally drop him if we sign Lo Celso and he performs in training and preseason. We need a solid central, creativity (Lo Celso/committed Eriksen) and 3 lethal forward players (dream Bale/Moura, Kane, Son)... no room for Alli.

He’s expected to be a starter for Argentina. He’s started 5 of their 8 matches since the World Cup, albeit all 8 have been friendlies so it’s hard to say for sure.

I can see him easily displacing Mascherano. Has banega been involved in the midfield thus far (excuse my ignorance on that)?

Not sure but Argentina are weird, one day they play a mixture of stars/old timers, the next they play all home based players. Their manager doesn’t have a clue.

Honestly, this seems to have been the case with Argentina for as long as I can remember, under half a dozen different managers.

They’ve got a hefty squad of quality players yet as a team they’re completely inept.

Exactly two different teams who have been very successful playing completely different styles.

If we replace Eriksen like for like, we will only go backwards, we need to rethink the way we play, either by making us more 'creative' all over the pitch, or by focusing on different ways of playing, like more focused on quick breakaways, speed, individual ability to take people on, control a game by brute force etc.

City do both, a lot of really quick counters as well as the ability to break opponents down. It's why they score so heavily
