Just seen Herc’s post. Wow! £80m and even more :-o that we are looking ready to drop that kind of money.

I haven’t really seen enough La Liga this season to comment with an insight but the boy must be seriously good and Clearly more highly rated than the young English talent

Crazy what you get for £80m now also. Seems like that should get you the best on the planet.

The way transfer fees are going is ridiculous. If he does go for £80M that would be one of the ten biggest transfers ever. The only players who've cost more than £80M are Neymar, Mbappe, Coutinho, Dembele, Pogba, Ronaldo and Bale. There's going to be a lot of pressure on him to succeed if he does cost that sort of money.

80m EUROS not GBP = £71m

That's the figure Herc mentioned, but i was talking about the €100M that they are rumoured to want. It's more like £88M.

Even if it's £71M it's still in the top 12/13 biggest transfers ever.
Where did Herc mention this? Recently?

The video of his involvement against Real 2 weeks ago genuinely is very impressive:

Clearly he doesn't have the same passing game as Eriksen so we will need to workaround that but what I love about this guy that Eriksen does not have is the willing to take the ball under pressure with back to goal and turn and dribble, the amount of space this will create for our attacking players will be fantastic.

Personally think the solution to deal with the loss of Eriksen is to have Kane in a similar role as he does for England because of how good his passing is and have the two players out wide playing off of him and then you have the two cms who can take the ball under pressure and can also play a pass if we get Lo Celso/NDombele, then you'd have to make the decision out of playing a DM, Winks or Dele

Guess I'm the only one who's a it meh about the guy. I'm just not seeing what's so special. He obviously has some ability but I don't see anything remotely special or particularly eye catching.

Nah, d/w mate - there just always has to be at least one that makes this exact same post each time we're linked with an exciting player.

The Release fee is the maximum that will be paid for Lo Celso, €88 million if I recall correctly

I thought the release fee was complete nonsense for us and only applies to Spanish clubs. Its there because of Spanish law. Unless he has another clause for all clubs of course.

Lets be honest though, if he was in a Real Madrid kit, I think much more people would be wanking over this signing.

And then a front 3 of:

Bale - Kane - Son

Dreams can come true!

Frankly a front three of Kane - Son - Moura, with Kane (as mentioned above) playing a deeper role, like he does for England, looks pretty good to me too.

lo Celso feels like a credible signing given the noise around him. Ndombele, who would be (IMO) an even better signing, would be the game changer though for me.

Feels tricky though with all the PSG noise (I keep saying noise but I can’t be bothered to think of another word) around it

If I'm being honest, I think our game has stagnated this last season - injuries obviously a reason why, so had to have a standard game plan.

However, I believe people had sussed us out and the limitations of the squad (particularly at full back) often made us easy to play against

BUT part of this reason was Eriksen - he was not the player he was in previous years, he did not take any game by the scruff of the neck, and he made fewer killer passes. Might still be high in the assists numbers, but that's hiding the fgact that he played an awful lot of poor balls this season.

Though CE has been instrumental in everything we have done in previous seasons, we need to have a different 'modus operandi' and believe Lo Celso will offer us that something different. Now if that's in a partnership with CE then even better

He has the ability to beat players with the ball at his feet which we've missed very badly since Dembele left. I like his versatility as well with him being able to play further forward and he also scores a few. Him and Ndombele and we have serious depth and tactical options in midfield.
