I don't think Sterling is good enough for us but that said we must be barmy depleting our striking ranks unless (who am I kidding!?) we're signing a striker. If Kane's injury takes longer than expected to heal then we're going to have Llorente up front indefinitely, which...urgh.
If Sterling is going out on loan (heard to Charlton), Harrison and Georgiou definitely should be. I assume Poch will be relying on Parrott as his ‘worst-case scenario’.

Aramide Oteh has joined Walsall on loan from QPR for the rest of the season.

Even if Llorente and Son got injured you know Poch would play Lamela as a false 9 or Lucas up there ahead of Sterling, so does it really make a difference?

appears that it's only to their 2nd team. i've never rated georgiou particularly highly but this seems like a move that could've/should've been made two years ago, though the same can be said for most of our academy players. also why must we always wait until the last day of the window? from top to bottom this club is just so slow at making moves. it was the same in the summer with onomah, ccv, shashoua and edwards all leaving just a few days before the deadline, why not let them go at the start of the window so they can get settled in their new sides?

elsewhere it seems that kaz is going to sunderland. i was going to say that when maja left that maybe sterling would be a good shout to go there, not that i know much about the rest of their squad admittedly.

Assuming they haven't brought in another striker, he should get a decent chance. They have lost their main striker (Maja) and their 2nd most used Striker's (Sinclair) loan ended, however Wyke (who scored 15 goals in League One last season) has just returned from injury, as has Watmore (who also plays as a winger), so will be a challenge for him and won't be given it on a plate.

Tom Carroll's gone to Aston Villa on loan with option to buy. Good for him, an opportunity to kick start his career again.

Not great news if it goes through, they will have 2 experienced strikers with proven records in that league and they are chasing automatic promotion and have had a dip in form, so will want that experience.

Not sure if Grigg move gone through yet? (and why would he want to drop a division?).

Annoying if it does go through and Sterling doesn't get the game time - our youth setup has been very very poor in identifying decent loans for our players in recent seasons (especially Onomah).

I keep hearing this complaint, but we don't know the options available. As for Onomah - Villa and Sheff Weds are hardly poor clubs. Maybe we haven't been able to get him to a team that plays a more passing style, but has one of those teams wanted him? There are not exactly loads of them in the football league.

I know what some teams (Chelsea in particular) do though, which as far as I'm aware we don't, is to structure loan contracts so that the more they play, the less it costs a club. If a player appears for a certain amount of games/minutes etc. the loan fee decreases in stages, or the parent club will cover more of the wages - there's some extra incentive there to play them and stick with them.

Chelsea and City youth players will always get loans though because their academies are built on creaming off the best players in each age group with their finances. Our academy works a different way, trying to develop the less obvious talents, and as such we'll have less interest.

i think also our kids tend to be more technical and not so physically imposing or really quick so they take longer to mature, but our success rate as they get older seems to be very good.

But whilst that may be the case, they still incentivise loan deals. I think it's something we have to look at.
