This Danny Rose mystery needs to end. Where the fuck is he????For this particular game I'd also go with this or Rose for Vlad if he's fit.

From 90% chance of playing against Chelsea 28/9 to now where there seems even more uncertainty over his involvement. This Danny Rose mystery needs to end. Where the fuck is he????

Saw benny play against reading for QPR. This guy is a wildcard. Not an option. We should have bought in the summer, inexplicable that we didn't. Just poor planning all-round.Your guess is as good as mine but it's costing us since Naughton isn't a leftback and Verts doesn't want to play there.
Pretty frustrating that for whatever reason AVB couldn't resolve his differences with Benny and have him as part of the squad. It's the kind of thing that could end up costing him his job in the end.

We always leave ourselves short in one way or another. Never finish a transfer job properly. Ever.

Where did you hear this?Yet still this is the same guy that played left back for us in the same seasons where we actually qualified for the CL and played in it.
Tbh I haven't watched QPR and I think we all know he was a liability at times but I'd still take him there over Naughton any day of the week.
And I've just seen that Vlad has a broken nose so he could be out for a while.
Have seen him enough for us to know that he is at least a capable back up option though. The fact that we didn't buy in that position is one thing but to sell in that same position to make us even more short is baffling.

I'd use fryers over Naughton. Not sure when fit though. We seem to be kept in the dark about injuries. Not much public info from the club.
Plan was obviously to bring him on slowly...you know what aVb is like. I think we'll see more cameos from him when fit.AVB didn't even trust Fryers in some of the earlier Europa Lge games, I can't see him using him in the league tbh.
Holy fuck that is a good article. There seems a lot of parrallels with the tactics AVB is using at the moment. The problem is that he doesnt realise you dont need a team of atheletes to play a pressing game and that you need classy players to create chances when directing all your play through congested channelsBlaugrana, read this: http://www.oneworldsports.com/stories/depth-analysis-3-6-1-formation
I honestly feel that 3-6-1 is the future of football and would suit our team perfectly. The 3-6-1 is all about pressing high up the pitch with a very active defence. It is extremely potent on the counter-attack, but also dominates possession through playing so many central players. It is reliant on hard working wingers however, as well as defenders who are good with the ball at feet, but we have those in Kaboul, Chirices, and Vertonghen.
It's an interesting line up, but I don't think the wide men will work. I watch lots of Serie A where 3-6-1 and 3-5-2 are commonly used. The 3-5-2 is my favourite formation and, when done well, is deadly. Juve last night showed a perfect example of it against Napoli both offensively and defensively when Napoli regained possession. Juve also went 3-6-1 last year a few times with Marchisio playing off the striker.
I think we do have the right players for it and I've posted my version of a 3-5-2 team in the "Our Best 11" thread. I would actually play Walker and Rose as the wing backs because they have the stamina to do that role. If anyone, I dropped Townsend as he doesn't suit the formation.
Nonetheless, I don't think we'll ever employ it in the near future. Firstly, because AVB hasn't ever used it and probably doesn't care for it; and secondly, it's something you've got to work hard on through pre-season and practice. A 3 man defence with 2 wing backs is a massive change from the standard flat back 4 that we always use and it'll take a lot of time to get players used to it. It can be done in the EPL though - both Martinez and Rodgers have done it well.
Definitely think it would suit us, I'd go for this:
That's my dream but will never happen in a million with AVB.
This system offers incredible flexibility though. Makes me rock 'ard!
He's not gonna play 3-5-2. I don't care what he's played before; he bought these players in to play 4-2-3-1 and he's rarely going to deviate from that now. Keep watching....Based on what? Since AVB has been in charge we have played 4-4-2, 4-4-1-1, 4-2-3-1 and 4-3-3. He's hardly tactically inflexible.
In fact, he's probably the most tactically flexible manager we've ever had.
