Lamela may have been poor when he came on tonight, but he's been integral to our great pressing in recent weeks.

Townsend had a good game tonight and could be more useful coming on later if needs be, attacking tired defenders etc.

Keep the team that's done so well together in the League in recent weeks.

Totally agree, it would be beyond moronic to make changes to a team that's been performing well in the league recently.

Personally I'd give Eriksen a rest at the weekend as we've got two big games next week with the return leg in Italy and a cup final (four games in 10 days is tough for anybody esp if we go extra time in both)

If Stambouli is fit he has to play.

Him and Bentaleb should start.

Dembele, Dier, Chadli and Rose. Rest picks itself.

Why no Mason? And who should be dropped for Chadli (I'm guessing Lamela, although whoever plays on the right instead of him would be completely out of position)?

As long as Paulinho is not in the list of 18, I'm a happier man already.

I'd go for:-

...........................Lloris.............................
Walker.....Dier...........Verts.............Rose
.............Bentaleb.....Stambouli................
.......Chadli.....Dembele.....Eriksen..........
...........................Kane..............................

Vorm; Fazio, Davies; Mason, Townsend, Lamela; Soldado

Lloris
Walker Dier Vertonghen Rose
Stambouli Mason
Lamela Dembele Chadli
Kane

Vorm, Fazio, Yedlin, Bentaleb, Eriksen, Townsend, Soldado

Maybe put Vlad, Winks or Onomah on the bench for Yedlin.

Rest Bentaleb and Eriksen. Especially Eriksen. He NEEDS a rest. Looked out of it today, IMO. Chadli on the left to start is good. Eriksen can always come on after 45 if need be. Townsend can also come on later if we need the pace to stretch them. I am tempted to play Yedlin in that case, however, since at least we know he'll actually look to cross the ball into the box(im looking at you 2 Andros and Kyle!!!!!!)

We have to start Fazio vs. West Ham, IMO. Say what you want about his pace/positioning, but the man is absolutely dominant in the air. Even though they are without Carroll they aren't exactly going to play like Liverpool against us. I'm fine with Dier starting, but this game is crying out for Fazio.

We need to play a defensive midfielder and Mason isn't that.

Plus of the two I think Bentaleb is much the better player at the moment.

As for Chadli yes I'd have him in for Lamela. Or anyone instead of Lamela for that matter.

A team that still lost last league game. And with Lamella who is offering nothing in those games. Townsend looks on form to me, play him

You seen the size of Dier? he can handle himself in the air pretty well too, and has the pace on the floor
