At the end of the day it just shows how you need to take your chances in this league.
Can't be too hard on Defoe because he's still coming back after injury, Crouch played well generally but doesn't ever look like he's going to score from the sort of chances he had today.
Re Gomes, at the time I though it was good because it eased a bit of pressure we were under at the time.
Look on the bright side, not that long ago we would have gone there and lost without even looking like we could win, today we are gutted that we didn't get all 3 points.
That my friends is progress

Good sensible post.

Fuck me, I know Spurs Chat can be retarded at times, but this is ridiculous. 1-1 away to Birmingham is a decent result, take a quick look at their home record. Can anyone remind me who they beat in their last Premier League home game? Did we get beaten today? We were unlucky not to win? Of course we are.

Anyone saying we are losing contact with City et al are delusional, we are 3 points....yes 3 fucking points behind 4th. We are 6 points behind first ffs!!! Beat Chelsea next week and we are a point behind them.

There is kneejerk and then there is some of the bollocks written in this thread. It's a frustrating end result, but we played some great stuff today. And for people whinging about Defoe, first start after a long injury lay off - get some perspective.

I love how everyone thinks that we will sign a striker that ensures every chance we create will be scored. Could someone name this incredible striker as I'm unaware of any in world football who would guarantee that.

Not saying that our current lot are up to scratch but statements like we should have scored 3 or 4 if our strikers were good enough are ridiculous, we didn't have 4 nailed on to score chances in that game. yes we bossed possession for a long time but the chances created weren't amazing.

It is not just the striker the overall play has to benefit him. With all these high balls and wide wingers I can't think of anyone but Andy Carrol.

A little man tanty? do you mean tantrum? or does tanty mean something else? Anyway back to plain english. We are losing ground on the top 4 and we should be winning these games, i cant understand the lilywhite tinted specs on some people who refuse to criticise or see wrong in our team. Dont get so upset because i called you a WUM, im positive you have been called worse in your short life. This is the premier league not pro evolution soccer or whatever the fuck the youth of today compare it to.
Leaving aside your obviously fragile mental condition.

Who isn't criticising the team? We should have been 2-0 or 3-0 up at HT. We weren't. The fucked up. We weren't exactly dominant in the 2nd half. It's not like caught us on the break. They equalised after being the better team for most of the second half. Is that disappointing? Yes. Get a grip though. 10 pts out the last 12 without a decent striker to our names isn't man the lifeboats time.

Should we beat chelski at the Lane that doesn't mean everything is fine and we're going to dominate world football either.

It's funny, at the beginning of last season we scored a shed load of goals, and everyone was buzzing because of the four good strikers we had, and now they're not good enough.

Equally those who totally overreact to the first dissappointing result in a while are somewhat baffling too.

We aren't losing ground, that would imply a gradual decline, we lost ground today and are a whopping 3 points off City, a magnificent side who scored their 1st home goal in roughly 4 hours of action today, have a clueless manager and are a change in wind direction away from imploding with all the egos in their dressing room.

Next weekend we could be level on points with them.

I'm not going to go on a Harry bash but I think he fcuked up today with the subs. Even the ref thought Crouch was shit so much so he gave fouls against him when clearly he was fouled!!
Palacios looked a bit tired at 70 mins and Defoe is not as sharp as both him and Harry thinks. I agree with some on here we should have gone 4-5-1 at the 70 min mark and Palacios/Sando and Defoe/Niko subs would have been have been a better choice but hindsight is a wonderful thing

So disapointing looking at the league, could have ahd a nice 5pt cushion over the rest and only 4 points of the top, thats the gutter, with only 10 minutes to play, you always get the feeling if we are in front by 1 goal, the other team is going to score.

i must admit defoe gets to me more than any other spurs player, always seems to need loads of chances to put 1 away, today was no different.

a 20/25 goal a season striker is needed big time,...who ? ive no idea.

Thought Wilson played better today too, just shows what games can do for you (Niko ?)
At the end of the day if we'd hung on to the win and Bolton had grabbed an equaliser we'd all be happt bunnies.
As it stands there's all to play for

We go away to milan and score 3, cannot beat brum? where is the consitency? was a draw against newcastle a decent point for chelsea? was a draw against everton a decent point for chelsea? jesus christ it is 2 points dropped it is NOT a decent fucking point.

Agree with this, the sad part was the inevitability of the Birmingham goal, we cannot defend a 1 goal lead. It's not the way we play.

Mike, how is saying it is not a decent point and that we are losing ground totally overreacting?
