Utd and Fergie can't really speculate on dodgy transfers as they paid £7m for Bebe. That has dodgy written all over it. It was astute business as usual from Levy.
Whilst I think the whole thing is hilarious, and I'm pleased to see the kid join if he's any good, I'm puzzled over the attitude to Rose.
He's had an undeserved bad rap on here IMO. I agree that he was very underwhelming on the wing, but his performances at LB were far more promising. I think that judgement's supported by the fact that he's been the Maccam's best player this season whilst playing in that position. The whole scenario reminds me of Kyle Naughton, who many on here had decided was pants, and then went and tore it up at Norwich on loan. He's now back here, and a lot on SC have reversed their opinion of him.
Benny's starting to get on a bit, and we have no idea how his form will be after such a long lay-off. We have an England U21 who's playing LB for a premiership club and earning rave reviews. Why do we want shot of him?
I hope Zeki comes good, real good
Sure - I don't mean that he's on his last legs, just that a bit of succession planning wouldn't hurt.Should have at least another 3-4 years in him, he's only 28. I can see BAE being a decent coach if he decides to go that route
We should see the best out of LOL from here on out. Prime age for a defender coming up. As long as he has his pace, he's golden. Whether it's for us or not.Should have at least another 3-4 years in him, he's only 28. I can see BAE being a decent coach if he decides to go that route
Oh he did. I doubt he saw him as the next Paolo Maldini or anything but he'd have prefered to keep him.Hope SAF isn't getting stroppy about this purely on principle. Starting to think Fergie really saw something in him...and he's normally a good judge.
wonder what song we could conjure up for him...
(same tune as the ledley one)
oh zeki zeki,
he's no longer yours fergie,
after being fucked by levy,
oh zeki zeki
(mory kante yeke yeke)
well take more care of you, zeki zeki
Oh, oh, oh
E-zek-iel Fryers
(to the tune of Sex is on Fire by Kings of Leon)
Didn't read the article, but the word is that United offered him £2k a week. Now, that's a decent wage by anybodies standards (especially for someone so young!), but if United thought he was worth £6m then he was well within his rights to ask for considerably more imo.Hope he isn't a CAshley Cole in the making.

I know players earn loads and it might not be a lot in the grand scheme of things but he must know he will be a millionaire by the end of his career no matter what.
Hopefully its just journo's playing word games with his comments.
As Fryers was out of contract in June he effectively called the shots as to where he was going to go, if it wasn't Spurs. Levy no doubt advised his agent that our little club in Belgium would be a good parking bay for a few months and off he trotted at a fraction of the price of what we would have paid by tribunal.
So do I, nothing better than to rub old red nose in it. The arrogance to demand £6m for a young LB that has hardly had any first team action is beyond ridiculous. They only have themselves to blame, and I for one love the fact Levy plays to win. Not many get one over Man U and to date I think we're not doing too bad in our dealings with them
Of course DL would have done the same. What he wouldn't have done is have such an influence on the supposedly independent tribunal so as to make the process moot.Do you honestly think we would not have done the same if Utd had come calling for [any valued young english player of ours] at 17?
Its not arrogance, just makes good business sense. Unluckily for him, we've got an even craftier chairman who knows how to play the game.
