This is fucking hilarious. We hardly ever win knock out games at tournaments, and Colombia are exactly the type of team that we do badly against: technically strong, organised, and not averse to the dark arts. We hate playing South American teams.

So Southgate changes almost all the team, we duly look like shit, and we'll probably end up facing Colombia. We should be worrying about the quarters if we get there.

Vardy really isn't an international level striker. Fits a system tailored for him at Leicester and that's it.

Pundits and commentators thinking Sweden will be easy too if we beat Colombia. They'd be a nightmare opponent for us as they're set up pretty solid.

How did Chelsea have RLC on the bench for a huge chunk of the season in favor of fucking Bakayoko? They are horrible at giving their youth a chance.

Not a very enjoyable game. I can't knock Southgate, but I think his judgement has waned on this team selection. We should have been aiming to keep the momentum going. This has been very flat.

Looks that way. Very disappointing, although i'd like to see Kane playing off of him.
Rashford also been really poor.

anyone explains why is finishing 2nd better for them?

The winner of this group plays Japan, then potentially the winner of Brazil-Mexico and then one of France, Argentina, Uruguay, and Portugal while the runner-up plays Colombia, then the winner of Sweden-Switzerland and then one of Spain, Croatia, Russia, and Denmark.
