Only thing that worries me is that we bring in a Homegrown player and Conte not really up for using him, as it wont be his choice of player.

Zaha would be very interesting, although I think we should focus on more creativity deeper.

Zaha seems like a Conte-type player to me.

He's strong, quick, a bit nasty, and works hard for the team.

I find it incredibly hard to believe Zaha turns down a move to Spurs to stay at Palace and play for midtable.

It makes no sense that he would only move to a big club if he’s not second fiddle. If you’re at a big club you are only ever generally second fiddle unless you prove yourself and deliver. Only the Son, KDB, Kane and Salah’s of the world are not second fiddle at big clubs.

I just couldn't see Palace accepting a bid which we would deem acceptable for a player with one year on his contract. I think he's worth more to them (even if only for a year) than we'd be willing to pay.

I like Zaha, however personally we need to buy a younger player. As we already have Kane and Son around the same age. It’s a fine balance IMO.

So what happened to the list of Zaniolo, Paqueta, Maddison preferences. Are we working our way up from the bottom now, Traore, James, Malinovskyi or switching to home grown Gordon, Harrison, Zaha.
The Club looks either clever with no leaks or like throwing darts and seeing which one sticks.
Zaniolo, Paq & Maddison, a mix of too expensive and the clubs not willing to do a deal.

I personally would love to see Zaha in a Spurs shirt. We'd get at least 3 or 4 years of top-notch attacking!

Zaha way off. Though there is a kind of tentative interest. He is not going to come to play second fiddle, sitting on the bench. And why should he.
Yeah my main concern with Zaha is I think he'll hate being a rotation option. He's a big character, used to being the main man, and moody AF.

Can defo see him getting frustrated and kicking off after a couple months of playing off the bench. He's not the kind of bloke who's just going to happily pick up his wages and play 20-30 mins most weeks, I don't think.

For those who mentioned Man City - at least that's practically a guarantee of trophies. We can offer him CL football at Spurs, but not guaranteed trophies like City.

Wouldn't be surprised if he ran his contract down and moved abroad to be honest.

If he came and played on the right for us and he is as good there as you say then kulusevski's place in the team would be far from secure. Interesting.

Personally I think Kulu offers the team an essential balance right now because of his passing and crossing ability, which we lack in the CM2 and most of our WBs.

So I get why fans have been expecting a Maddison, Paqueta solution - but I think that one also has to be solved by having a passing CM, a better RWB, and even better passing CBs.

Zaha would be huge for us imo in various roles and systems, and would see plenty of minutes.

Saying all that, Palace fans reckon the board would be very reluctant to let him go because his realistic market value doesn't reflect the risk to Palace of destabilising Viera and their PL status.

They're aiming for Europa League this season, and they reckon the club would rather take the hit at £25-30m and let his contract wind down, which I tend to agree with.

Fans have known to be wrong though.

He gets a free move next year - bigger wages and likely more options to choose from. Given he turns 30 this year, I don't blame him for waiting it out.

Really depends what he wants. He might be happy being the big fish in a small pond.

Still want Maddison. Oh well. Zaha isn't good enough imo to displace any of our current front 3. Yes, I know about rotation, but he wouldn't get a start in the really big games.

All this Zaha talk reminds me of almost every other window over the last five years. It’s almost textbook deja vu

Yeah we arent sigining him. Its just not going to happen.

Im pretty sure I read he's already on 150k a week and would want even more than that to move. No way we pay him 200k a week imo.

Would much rather prefer that we went after younger prospects with the right profile that are hungry for minutes and ready to grow than trying to convince a 30 year old on high wages (with a petulant streak)to bide his time on the bench.

I think it’s unlikely too. Although I trust Paratici to pull something out the bag that hasn’t hit the media yet.

Yeah I think he's going to pull one or 2 surprises before the close. Hope we can close them out too. Malinovskyi is definitely on the back burner should the the first options fall through. Can't see it being Zaha who we go for

Not in addition to, but instead of. I don't want another season with Doc or Emerson at RWB, they are simply not good enough for such an important position in this system. Time will tell with Spence, but indications are that he's not quite ready yet. A similar signing to Perisic on the right and let Spence develop would have been ideal.
you seriously think that we can replace both of them before the window closes?
