Where to get tickets for WH game?

Hi everyone,

I live in the US, and have a business trip lined up to the Netherlands. I figured it was a perfect opportunity to make a trip to London and see Spurs vs West Ham. The question is how or where do I get tickets?

Obviously I am not a member of any of the clubs ticket buying programs, no loyalty points, or anything like that. I see from the ticket office that they wont be available for general purchase until much later, and I suspect there will be a huge risk of selling out. I've found some other websites online that claim to sell tickets (one even will ship them to the US for 40 pounds). Are these sites legit? Is there a better way to find tickets? I need 2.

This will be the first time I have an opportunity to see a game at WHL, and I really want to make it happen.

I would also love to hear suggestions on places to stay. The plan is to come over Friday morning, do some sight-seeing on Friday, game on Saturday, and fly to Amsterdam on Sunday.

Any help and advice would be appreciated. Oh, in case anyone was wondering, the prices I saw for the East or West stands was 135 pound. Is that a realistic price?

Thanks!!!

Official prices are above - this is a Cat A game.

You'll struggle to get through the club probably so online tout is probably best but you'll obviously have to pay over the odds. You might get tickets through the club but you're taking a chance.

If you're flying into Stansted then I suggest staying near the airport and getting the train into Tottenham Hale, if you're only staying one night. If longer then you could stay near Liverpool St. if you want a night out in Central London. Liv street goes direct to both airport and ground and is also a good spot for West End/City.

Thanks Steve. Don't mind paying a little more, as the opportunity will not present itself too often. I would also like to know I have tickets early, so that I can book my ticket to London.

Probably flying to Gatwick, so Liverpool street sounds good. Will probably take a tour of London (travelling with someone who's never been), and want to be around things to see / places to go.

Thanks.

Pleasure. If flying into Gatwick you can get the express train into Victoria. The Vic line goes straight upto Seven Sisters which is the nearest tube to Spurs so you may be best propping up around there. And there's shitloads of hotels around there too. Also keeps you central close to all the sights, Buck Palace, Westminster, London Eye etc.

usayid, try the ticket exchange on the official site. You can quite often pick up tickets at face value about 2 days before the game.

Might be worth giving the club a call to see if any of the online resellers are legit.

If money is no object, I think there are special VIP packages for most games where you get a meal and a tour included as well, which might be worth a look...

i guess you can still become a member and than buy the tickets from the club. might be safer and even cheaper then from another website.

Thanks for the advice and suggestions!! I didn't look into membership, so that could be an option, or at the very least, asking the club if any of the other sites are legit.

Don't buy from websites. If you cant get through Spurs then get them on the day off of a tout(scalper). I have done this most of my life. For that game you'll get a ticket about 30 mins before kick off for about £60. If you want to sit in a particular stand the price will vary as it will if you need say 2 together. Singles or "oddies" are easier and slightly cheaper. Don't buy off the first tout you ask. If you have an accent he may try and ask for more than the market price.Just checked and it's 3 pm kick off on saturday and not on tv. you may have to pay about £150 for a pair. Also if we go on a mad winning run before then the price will go up.
Touts are all over if you know where to look but generally outside the spurs shop on the corner of park lane and up to the players entrance in the west stand on the high road are the best areas. You'll definitely get in this way. I've never not got in to a game including cup finals this way. I hope this helps and good luck!

Thanks!!! I have signed up for membership, and if I cant get tickets that way, what you suggest is exactly what I will do. Is scalping legal in London? Here it varies by area, with the norm being that they can charge up to 5% above face value.

With a lilywhite membership you should be set. I think you'll be able to get tickets for yourself (and one guest I believe) for most home games (including West Ham, I'd imagine) without any problems, just make sure you log in and buy your tickets before they go on general sale.

I'm from the US also have bought tickets for me and a couple friends from the spurs site on general sale but it's pretty stressful getting up at 4am on the day they're available and trying to snap up tickets, especially as the site is kind of a nightmare. The ticket exchange is also pretty useful but you have to time it right.

In my experience on general sale I got tickets for Man City (three seats together, but it was a Thursday night game), Wolves (individual seats), Blackburn (2+1), Everton (three together) at home, and Blackburn away. Think the home seats were all in the West stand. I think it's mainly the Chelsea/Man U/Arsenal games that sell out before they get to general sale.

Check out the match break link from the THFC website - ticket + hotel night in London - some availability for West Ham game - not cheap - but available now and if you need a hotel might be an option for you

I want to come to this as well but holding off booking flights as there is a very good chance this could be televised. Any ideas when this will be announced?

I'm flying back from Oz for the Milan game, i bet the tickets for that game are as rare as rocking horse sh*t ! Long way to come 9000 miles but it is worth it! I was there the last time we played them at the lane and we owe them!
Thanks for the pointers everyone else especially oohaahedgar as that has always been my way of getting tickets So don't tell anyone else

At the Inter game I was wondering how the touts were getting hold of tickets. It never reached general sale, so surely everyone going must have been a member and using the ticketless system. Or would there have been corporate tickets floating around?
