What if I bought some rocket boots and flew to Mars and there set up a football academy for the locals? There I find the best player ever. Sell him to Spurs and he scores 5 against Arsenal in a intergalactic cup final?

I'd have to say that those weren't button mushrooms that you had for tea.

Bump, now he has gone and jumped into bed with a richer and more famous woman where does he stand?

He’s the best I’ve ever seen, and I suspect that’s the case for a lot of fans under 40.

Amazing to have him back again.

I was at the San Siro when he scored the hattrick and even though we lost, all everyone talked about was that hattrick. It was one of the most surreal experiences simply because I was pissed and steaming off my face in a shitty stadium with netting in front of me watching from space.

Anyways - he will forever be in my top three

My fave player however is Dembele - bloody unreal.

IMHO i have only seen greaves on replays but i would say he would be no 1, Hoddle i have seen live as grew up in the 80s and he was my fave player then, would be 2, Bale would be 3 just behind them 2. Also had a soft spot for Anderton in the 90s

How good was alf ramsey? Probably none on here ever watched him or other players at the time.

Never saw greaves. Hoddle and waddle were my time.

Stats, greaves hands down. Everywhere else i dunno. Hoddle has to be in there. Venables didn't put jennings in his greatest spurs team. As much as we love ledley, sol was better (sorry).

Make your own decisions and lists. Nobody is right or wrong.

It’s so crazy that he’s back. For lack of a better differentiator, the “Bale era” and the “Kane era” feel so massively different even though they are only separated by a couple of years. The club has changed so much since Bale left.

Now Kane and Bale get to line up together. If they can win a couple of trophies, they’ll indisputably be in the first sentence of any discussion about Tottenham legends.

Time to write your legacy lads!

Obviously a legend already but I’m always astounded when other spurs fans say he’s a bigger or better player for spurs than Kane. Laughable.

Who’s our next manager?

You can’t exactly pick a greatest player because they all play different positions eg. Greaves was the greatest scorer but Chivers was the best centre forward ,there is a difference. Hoddle was the greatest passer but Mackay was the greatest tackler.Perhaps we should have posters list their choices of who was the greatest for different reasons.

I like this idea :)

There are still obvious barometers though. Makele could be the greatest DM who ever lived for the next hundred years but he’s still would never be spoken about in the same breath as Messi.
