*MOD NOTE...
When quoting other forums try to keep an eye on the Potty mouths. The "C" word wont get caught if its copy and pasted from another forum. Cheers
Thought we could have a thread where we can discuss the thoughts of our opponents, pre game and post. Whether they think they'll win or not, what they think of us, their score predictions etc. Or to just simply come in and read what the oppositions fans are thinking as I always myself find it quite interesting.
So this week we face Chelsea.
Really struggling to be optimistic about this one.
3-0 Spurs.
Can't afford to lose. If Ramires is out I'm sure we will.
Oh for f**ks sake everyone, what is this some sort of Spurs love in. If the team turns out with the frame of mind they had in the Valencia and Man City games then we shouldn't have a problem and even a draw wouldn't be a bad thing as they're not the pushover they used to be and are probably one of the best teams in the PL coming forward.
If we perform like at Wigan then they deserve all the sh*t they get because you can't blame the manager for players turning it on when they choose and each and every one of them who strops can f**k right off.
We have strikers that aren't scoring (Sturridge the exception) and a defence that looks like conceding in every game. We have to face facts, at the moment Spuds are better than us and at home so they are favourites.
One of the big disappointments for me over the last 3 or 4 season is the lack of passion the team has shown in derby games (away in particular). We seem to be forgetting that we are a cup final for any London club (even Arsenal).Last season at WHL was the first in about 2 or 3 seasons we matched them for desire hence why we nearly pulled of a win.Sadly I just fear another Wigan like performance hence a loss. If we played like we did against City we would win, simple as.
We are better than Spurs, end of. On paper we should batter them. They are not that good, they're Spurs. Its our game to win or lose. Depends entirely on who turns up. Provided all are fit:
---------- Cech ------------Ivan - Luiz - Terry - Cole----------- Romeu ------------ Ramires - Meireles ---Sturridge - Torres - MataAs good as Drogba was for City, I feel like he slows down Mata and Danny. Torres isn't scoring but he seems to make our front 3 much more dynamic with his movement. With that being our best midfield, I feel using Torres would up the tempo to levels Spuds will find difficult to deal with. We'll have to play on the counter attack and the speed in that lineup would be their undoing IMO. I'd bring Drogba on in the second half or if we're ahead to help kill the game Mourinho style.
Read a great quote in Hemingway last night Castiel in reference to military plans, paper doesn't bleed. It's the same here the team on paper doesn't mean a thing. Its all about attitude when the players get out there.
That's why Drogba starts. We cannot have Torres searching around for his confidence at WHL.Spurs are kings of the quick counter, if we play high up Bale will tear us apart.
They're certainly more cautious than they may have previously been. They're also all praying for Ramires to be fit, some for Luiz also. I for one hope Luiz plays... Is interesting to see what they think of Drogba and Torres.
