Since we installed Martin Jol as manager we've constantly had the goal of finishing in the top 4 and making the champions league but what do us fans value the most about the competition?

For me when Jol took over it was a really exciting time and playing in Europe and signing exotic players from all over the world was great after years of signing average journey men. At that point we were constantly striving for consistency and an improved team, craving superstar signings but constantly missing out because "allegedly" we didn't have Champions league football.

Now the team is finally competing at the top of the league in April for the first time in my life time (Born in 81) and we have a squad of truly talented players competing at a top level I don't crave any real superstars. So with that in mind and the Champions League still being muted as a success of our season what will be the real benefits of us being in the competition?

For me top players want to play at the top level and competing in the Champions league should be something players like Kane and Lloris (amongst others) should be consistently doing as a base line. So to me being in the Champions League will hopefully mean we can keep our best players whilst hitting the glory nights again at the lane.

I've tried to add as many options to the poll but what is your favourite thing about being back in the Champions League?

I can't see past it being us giving players who otherwise might get the itch to leave for CL football the opportunity to sample it without moving on with the added bonus that it makes us a more attractive proposition for players who might consider joining us should we be interested in them.

All day.
Every day :woot:

I think it's a combination of fulfilling the ambitions of our top players and manager and attracting new players. This all helps with our league and domestic pushes as well and hopefully gives more security long term.

Next season will be a dog fight though.

CL is all about the players for me. Giving stars a reason to stay, and new stars a reason to consider Spurs even more seriously. CL is nothing to a club like Spurs if it doesn't grow the playing staff (existing and new) of the club.

And the occasional "random" weekend get away with my wife that "almost entirely coincidentally" fits with some away match.

Am praying for us to get either Barca or Madrid in the group stages. Whether I get a ticket or not I am making that away trip.

Nothing really:

- Opponents are similar standard, bar the 4-5 elites (who will destroy us when we draw them)
- Money all gets eaten up in salaries and bonuses
- Stadium fills with moaning entitlement wankers instead of the 1882 lot and other general sales people who actually really want to be there
- No chance to watch Onomah, Winks and 2CV emerge in the same way Europa fans got to see with Kane, Bentaleb, Lamela etc.
- Wednesdays clash with my team's training, whereas there's usually nothing else to do on Thursdays
