I appreciate he was asked a question.. but whyyyy answer like this!

“I sympathise with him,” Hodgson said. “I think he was very, very unlucky and I will go out on a limb – I don’t see that as a dive. I think he was unbalanced and that was it. I don’t think it was a penalty either. I just think he was unbalanced, running at that speed and there was a very slight contact with the defender who was trying to cover.

“I think he went down because he was unbalanced but, of course, all the pundits I hear are saying: ‘He was trying to dive, look how he dived.’ I don’t see it and I wouldn’t blame him for that. I don’t think he did go down. It’s not in his make-up.

“When you get sent off for something like that – where he obviously feels like I feel, and there is no doubt he is of that opinion – he has had to swallow the fact that he has been made to leave the field. Then, of course, he has reacted like sometimes human beings react. He hasn’t just said to the ref: ‘That’s all right, I understand, shake hands and have a good game.’ He has called him a few names. But he is a human being and that can happen."

Oh yes, Roy, a man who would racially abuse a man in a casino definitely draws the line at diving to win a penalty.

He scissor kicked him, basically. When you watch the angle from behind (the one Moss saw live) you see Vardy wrap both his legs round him. He was blatantly cheating how Hodgson can say this is unbelievable but I guess he's just sticking up for him what with the Euros and all but like you say best to say nothing.

I believe he has until 6PM tomorrow to respond.
And in the final analysis the decision will have less to do with propriety than what's the most dramatic narrative for the PL run-in, in which case we should see an extended ban and a wider crack of opportunity for Spurs.

What a dickhead. Can you imagine if that was a international game? It depresses me that Roy is in charge of a talented group of young players. I really fear he will waste the opportunity and start more "established" players.

A clear case of Hodgson trying to influence proceedings. To me he is more or less saying Vardy is essential to the Euros and the FA should not upset him

Well done Roy. Wasn't sure it was possible but you've just made yourself look a bigger prick than usual

I've got a horrible feeling he'll get let off with 1 match.

Why would they charge him if they aren't going to punish?
If the FA read the ref's report there was clearly enough in it to charge him with an offence. A precedent was set with the Costa punishment earlier in the season, so the FA have to be seen to follow it.

It's an absolute disgrace that Hodgson has come out and said this while disciplinary proceedings are ongoing. Fair enough if he wants to say it afterwards, even though he's obviously talking sh*t. How this tool is our national team coach is beyond me, it's a complete waste of the young talent we have coming through (mostly Spurs players)
