I honestly believe the only thing stopping him from signing for Spurs would be wages. If we offer him what he was on at Chelsea, I think we'd get him. The only trouble is, I think that would bring him in line with the wages Modric is on. I'm not sure if that would be a good thing or not. But I wouldn't write off Daniel Levy from sorted something out.

I don't think anyone out of those will go, if Cole arrives; as he is versatile and will play all over the pitch, RW, LW, CM, second striker.

If Cole joins who is not going to get many games? Huddlestone? Palacios? Modric? Lennon? Kranjar? Sandro? And who is going to be happy with that situation? Who will be leaving?
I am not sure, this could create more problems than solutions.

a - The lad is on a free - so wages aren't such and issue as a signing on fee and a salary structure that rewards his experience bringing "relative" success to Spurs.

b) Why does anyone have to leave? We are on four equally important fronts next season. Last season we were woefully short on depth at certain times in the season and a player like Cole can only add to the versatility of the first team squad.

ah bugger. Then who is off? Modders, Krancjar, Bentley?

Possibly Bentley, but more likely we will sell Keane and Pav.

Bring in one striker and Joe Cole. This will give us the option to play 442 or 451 with cole being the player in the hole.

Striker

Cole
Bale Lennon

Mods Palacios

Paying the high wages isn't the issue. its upsetting other players that could be a cause for concern. If Keane is our highest paid player on 60, how can we bring in someone on 100?

One way around it is to give him a ridiculously large signing on fee, equating to something like the transfer fee we would have paid for him. Then stick him on an average salary.

Cole's agent has said he will not make his mind up till after the World Cup. Now there's a chelsea ITK that knows more than anyone else that he wants to join Spurs to be re-united with Harry. Am I thinking this through right ?
