Just watching the game again from record. Gilfi's first goal came from a move of about 13 passes (all 1 or 2 touch) which started from a Rose throw in on the left went accross the pitch to the RHS back again. It was a really lovely move and worth watching the whole think again rather than the last 2/3 passes as you get on the highlights if you have it recorded.

Just re-watched the match again specifically in the way we defended and have to say Rose as good as he was going forward he was defensively sound as well. Made a couple of errors in the 2nd half where he tried to be too clever but apart from that it was a near perfect game. Also made
2 goalsaving tackles as well on Elmander and Ricky Van whatever.

My definite MOTM

By the way Seb Bassong was utterly immense for them, he was everywhere if it wasn't for him they would have probably conceded about 6, no exaggeration. Happy for him because he got a bit of stick from us when he was here but like any good young player they need games and time to settle plus confidence.

Also a very interesting stat cropped up, only 11% of attacks came down the Norwich left hand side, now bearing in mind their most dangerous player (Redmond) plays there it says that Walker and Townsend did a pretty good job on him. Wasn't it last season we conceded the least amount of goals down out right hand side? Walkers gets enough stick but he's obviously doing something right.

Lot of good information in your post.

I was proud of our fans for giving Seb a nice reception. And, as you mentioned, he was the sole reason why they didn't lose 4 or 5-0. Absolutely fantastic and any side would love to have a player with that type of grit and determination.

Yep it really was a good performance, he's taken on a new level of responsibility as captain of Norwich, he was there marshalling the defence, talking to his teammates, geeing them up. Defensively he was a rock, literally putting himself in the right place at the right time, positioning, blocking, passing out from the back and knowing when to clear it - very mature performance from him.

Wouldn't be surprised if a bigger club comes in for him soon TBH.

I like it when you watch young players grow and mature into players that you always thought they were going to become. It was like when Kaboul first arrived, the guy had talent but was extremely raw, I was genuinely devastated when he left. Watched him closely at Portsmouth and he started to up his game, the more games he got the better and more confident he became and when Harry brought him back I was delighted and now look at him.

you're right about bassong, i live in Norwich and all the Norwich fans love him and do get quite worried when he is injured as he has been brilliant for them since he joined. He is also the captain of Norwich now and has had a problem commanding his defence, it was a pity he left as i thought he was good for Spurs but clearly it was the right decision for him career wise as he is now first choice for Norwich.

Totally agree. Went to the game then watched the 60mins highlights on Sky that night. Apart from the obvious pleasing parts - Eriksen, Gylfi, Rose etc - what I enjoyed most was how we closed Norwich down so fast from the first minute to the last, how they never had time to draw breath and how much the team wanted it. The other thing was Soldado's movement. Just because he didn't score didn't mean he was anonymous. His runs are so clever, he's always in space, always wants it and as soon as he and Eriksen/Lamela/everyone get on the same wavelength he's going to be frightening.

Yep Bassong was brilliant.

Fair play to him for wanting to go out and play, I'd have tried to have kept him.
