Imagine if you took all the supporters at Wembley and replaced them with the charged positive go get em attitude of the SC Match Thread contributors :D

Anyone who thinks we don't need to add pace needs to look at the Bin Dippers second goal. Hate to say it but they are a real threat this season.

Games like this make playing Dembele and Dier together completely redundant yet here we are again at HT plodding through.

Get some imagination and zip in midfield - that requisite is Winks being brought on or even dropping Eriksen a bit further back.

Either or, the team needs a bit of a rocket up their arse - particularly the big guns in our team.

That is so poor, to have 13 shoots on goal and 0 have hit the target once. Come on guys at least hit the target
Most of them have been blocked. Accurate but closed down. I think there were 9-10 blocked shots and 2 blocked crosses in 45 minutes.

There is clearly a Wembley issue for the players whatever they say....

Kane last week "we will respond on Sunday" if that is a response, then its a load of shit....
If we don't get a win here today it does highlight the negative side of waiting in the transfer window. If we were in the title race and missed out on a couple of points, you would point to games like this and not been prepared.

no chance for title this year, absolutely no chance... be lucky to get top 4 as clearly there is a challenge at Wembley, don't care what Poch and players say... its evident confidence is very low at wembley

You do realise that a burst of acceleration can help playing through teams.

It's not just the pass, it's quick movement that can draw the space.

Your talking as if Trippier is like Corluka slow or something ?

We've seen literally hundreds of games play out like this. It's not Trippier's lack of "pace" that is an issue in any way, there's no space for him to "sprint" into, Burnley have 28% of the ball and are squeezed into their third.

What we are desperately crying out for is a midfielder (or two) who can ping the ball when a pass is actually on, not have to send it via three team mates for extra security. And Alli holding the ball and playing it to a team mate would help too.

This game is just an identikit of the bus park we've been facing continually over the last 4/5 years (since we got good). I'd have Dembele or Dier off, put Winks on and try to shift the fucking ball a bit quicker, including to the FB's.

And people seriously thought we would be fine at wembley. Pmsl should have been mkdons not this **** of a place
Mate, I fuckinghate Wembley aswell but even if we were playing at the MK dons stadium Burnley would still be parking the bus and we'd be struggling to play.

Remember our two games against Burnley last season? They were both hard fought, shit-footballing games. This half is giving me deja vu of our first half at Turf Moor last season. In fact I can't think of a single to 6 side who had an easy game against Burnley last season.

Burnley is just a Bitch of a team to play against no matter what stadium you're at.

I know I was complaining about missing Walker and Rose, and I do believe we're weaker without their intensity and dynamism down the flanks but the eleven out there are more than good enough to beat Burnley - Wembley or not.

Poch needs to tear into them a bit. Yes they're sitting deep and making it difficult but if we lift the intensity we can break the lines.

But we need to lift the fucking tempo. Wembley is hardly a small pitch ffs.

We are crying out for pace from the fullbacks, we need atleast one pacy option on the flank to stretch teams, what Burnley are doing is our Kryptonite...keeping it real compact.

COYS, lets do this.

don't need pace though if you listen to some of the fans on here ;)

I feel like we could buy 10 players in the transfer market and it wouldn't make a damn difference.

It's this stadium and that is the annoying part.

Really turgid stuff in that first half. No one says it's easy when the opposition stick every man behind the ball, but we're lacking urgency, tempo, ideas, and sharpness.

They've got 9 men stuck behind the ball yet, and I hope people were watching that half for the amount of times it happened, you have Dier, Dembele and Davies (apart from the one time he made a forward run that even he couldn't pass up) are all on the same horizontal line not even 10 yards in front of our two centre backs. So five players hanging back basically redundant.

There is enough talent out there, but we aren't going to win unless we work harder for it. Move the ball quicker, move them around, and take the handbrake off.

We are playing too safe, rotating the ball constantly, not playing the dangerous balls, not using the width because we lack pace to get behind them.

Everything about us is turgid right now, we look slow and well off the pace, I had a feeling it was going to be like this at Wembley.

I think we will pick it up eventually and start hitting our stride at this stadium, the problem is, by the time we do the league will probably be long gone, we have to hit the ground running and make this place a home, starting with a win today.

The title?

We'd be lucky to finish in the Top 6 with our current home form.
