Emerson Royal has been doing everything he can to adapt to the lung-busting demands Antonio Conte puts on his wing-backs. It has seen the Brazilian and his managerial team, led by his dad Emerson Zulu, spend £800,000 on goods and services to improve his performance.

His attitude is most definitely not in question. You’d want all your players to have his mentality.

Smart investment. £800k spent on improvement could result in millions of pounds per year in salary, national team selections, sponsorships, etc.

Shouldn't surprise me but there is no mention of how they got the £800k figure (which is almost a million, apparently). The oxygen chamber seems to cost between 10-20k. Unless they paid £780,000 for a human behaviour specialist and a write-up on what makes Hakimi so great I'm confused.

It's the supersoaraway Sun so I wouldn't pay too much attention to their sums or even whatever the actual figure is. The real meat of the piece is what he's doing to improve.

Trying to improve is one thing. Spending almost a million to improve is a whole different thing so it's still worth questioning
