The Extra Inch might not be laddish, but they sure are full of themselves. I still listen from time to time, but sometimes Windy and Nathan just gets too much for me.

Windy has been quite down on Sarr from the start of this season and then doesn't have the humility to admit he was wrong when Sarr keeps showing his importance to the team.

Solomon is another who he has disliked from the start because he reminds him of Lucas with just head down dribbling. See below for a childish tweet example from today.

Manor has started two PL games for us. In one of them he created 5 chances and got 2 assists. He could score the winner against United and Windy would go something like 'yeah, but did you see in the 57 minute when he had the ball on the left hand side and failed to see Udogie on the underlap, he just lacks the intelligence to excel at this level'.

Also found it out how much windy hates Solomon but its a decent pod. That along with fighting cock and the best one being VFTL

VfTL is interesting, funny, informative with very balanced views

I just can't do Fighting Cock, I tried a few years ago and everybody on it annoyed the shit out of me.

I love the humour of the Fighting Cock. Probably because its the same kind of piss taking that goes on with mates.

VFTL, TTW are great for jounolists take on Spurs. I like G&G but Ali Gold just talks and talks and it can just become too much. I'm sure you could get the same info out in half the time.

I get it. It’s definitely not for everyone. I started listening to it while I was in the US partly because it just felt like being back in the pub with my mates. The crude stuff takes a second to get used to but the tongue is firmly in the cheek (as it were).

The thing is, it quickly became clear that there was some really incisive and knowledgeable thinking and debate under the smut. It’s also a much easier listen when things are going well, tbf.

vote for VFTL to beat those other clubs podcasts

Bit worried that our vote will be split. Seems bizarre that there are two from one club

Does anyone else here listen to the Last Word on Spurs pod? I listened to one last week when Ben Jacobs was a guest and there was a lot of chat on transfers. When referencing the stfu true put in place I’m sure I heard them mention that Gabbanini left and then returned. Did I mis-hear that? I don’t believe he’s back as a scout but others would know better than me.

cheers all

TFC is the best around imo. It's just like listening in on some mates chat football and makes me feel more connected to the club from the other side of the world in Melbourne. it's also genuinely hilarious. Regularly makes me laugh out loud on public transport.

I like TEI because they're all thoroughly good human beings who go about things the right way -- for example, reaching out to their ad providers in an effort to stop promoting awful, unethical shit. I agree that Windy and Nathan can be rigid in what they think is right or wrong as far as football is concerned but ultimately they just come across as lovely people so I can forgive some of the stubbornness when it comes to their opinions about some players.

I also really like tehTrunk's post-match wrap-ups on Rule the Roost. It's usually the first thing I listen to on a Monday after a match on my way to work.

As far as journo pods go, The Tottenham Way is the only one I've found worth listening too. I can't stand the pompous host of TVFTL

An Echo of glory isn't bad but it's really annoying how they constantly interrupt each other and then talk over each other. They rarely get to make the point they are trying to make. Puts me right off it

I agree this weeks episode was like that because the new bloke kept overtalking the regular one. Not normally like that, but even so the content is miles better than any other.

Not sure where to book this if there is a spurs book thread but thought this thread could be good, reading this book at the moment which is absolutely fantastic and very nostalgic, highly recommend:

New podcast hosted by Flav from fighting cock

I enjoyed the first couple. His heart didn’t seem to be in it when doing the one about Nusa. Maybe I need to give it a listen again. Just seemed very flat.

Not sure Flav is cut out for the serious pods. His overall football, tactical knowledge etc is poor as he says regularly himself so talking really specifically about a player and how they would suit our system etc is not his strength.

Yeah. You can still make it work though. There’s a ton of podcasts out there with an expert and a novice who play off each other.

It’s early days, could still work. The choice of intro music is a bit off too (and goes on way too long!).

Dunno if you’ve listened to the last one but it was with a Palace fan and was pretty good. Feel like that sort of thing (interviews etc) might be the way forward.

Crouchy is this weeks guest on the ‘Off The Shelf’ podcast. A great listen.

Some lovely and amusing words about Assou-Ekotto at the very end.

Echo of Glory more deserving of a podcast award than VFTL IMO. As good as it is the former is just more complete and entertaining

Listened to The Tottenham Way last night - it’s usually very good. Once again, the production let it down. The host came through loud and clear but his sidekick’s voice was quiet and incredibly muffled. I really wish they would give this more attention. It’s no good having good content if the process is so poor.

Off The Shelf with David Howells on Spursplay, I had never heard this story before, the day Gazza took an ostrich to the training ground in a Steve Sedgley Spurs shirt :)
