The recruitment team will still be looking at players though. I thought that was the point of setting up the new department. So it could operate whatever the conditions at the club.

Agreed it's probably the scouting department doing their jobs and looking at players for positions we need to fill so they can give a good amount of info to any incoming DoF and Manager. Still interesting to know what players we might be looking at though.

I think it's very possible that our scouting/recruitment team could be specifically targeting certain players even in the absence of a manager and DoF. The 3 guys that Paratici hired to work below him (Steinsson and the other 2 I forget) are essentially doing the work of a DoF in his absence I assume and looking at players.

I suppose we won't specifically be "looking to sign them" until the manager gives a green light, but I'm sure we've done this in the past with players like Bergwijn who was obviously scouted and considered a potential target long before Jose turned up at the club.

Replace the phrase "looking to sign" with "has a strong interest in" and I think the article could be accurate.
