I really hope Andros can find a place where they need him, sad to say its not going to be here.

£14 mil means he ain't leaving.

£8-9 mil would tempt some clubs, but a whooping £14mil

You've got to love Levy,

Have you seen the current market?
14M for an England International with pace is about average.

Well if we are going to push for the title (which I'm sure is now the target for this season) and mount a decent FA/UEFA challenge then Townsend could be useful at some point this season. So Pochettino and Levy, being the clever and shrewd chaps that we know them to be, have no interest in selling him. If someone is prepared to pay top dollar for him, then fine but if not, he stays and wins a medal.

I think it's more of a case of that we (DL) have valued AT at 14m (read @Riandor's post) and I don't see why we should jump to Toon's 'rope', however Toon want to swing it. I know we, the fans, would love to bring someone in ASA AT's squad position, but *only when* AT's valuation is met (as Riandor says, it's not really 'top dollar', but 'for an England player and experience/age, 14m is about right'.

I tend to agree. AT offers something different to our other wingers, and has looked sharp and hungry for the U21s. I think he could still have a role to play in the months to come. If he has really put himself completely beyond first team contention we should grant him a loan move.

I still feel there's good to come from Townsend if he stays...he's got a lot of good points.

If he is to go then 14+ million is a fair deal for a young England international.

Yes he'd love 14m but if we want a deal we may need to think again. He's a gifted player no doubt but he hasn't played in months and even when we play a weakened team in the cups we don't have him on the bench. I don't like the idea of a loan because all that happens is he runs down the time on his contract and leaves for less money. Levy has done well in past negotiations but 14m now would be one his best.

A succesful loan deal would push up his value, but against that he would have six months less on his contract, which pushes down his value.

The worst outcome for everyone is if he spends the rest of the season here and doesn't play, so I reckon if no-one meets our valuation he'll be going somewhere on loan on the final day of the window.

Jonjo Shelvey cost £12m, no reason we shouldn't look a similar price for Andros.

Isn't it Newcastle that want andros and its them that paid that for shelvey.... Townsend should easily be above shelvey in market value. No offence to Jonjo but he's very very average and inconsistent at that, but just like andros scores a scorcher once a season.
