There much better than most to be fair. But if Lenglet played for City and played quite regularly they would still win the league. But they’re all much better than Lenglet?

If I were to imagine a perfect centre back for us the two things I'd want most are pace due to the high line and at times all out attack and a calmness to balance out Romero's rashness. Is pace the most important aspect. I mean, city play a high line, and Dias, stones, Akanji and laporte are hardly speed merchants. Surely you just use your full backs on the cover?
Didn’t Lenglet get absolutely roasted in Barca’s high line which is why they wanted rid of him? How is Ange’s high line in a faster league going to go any differently?
Sell Kane and get Micky and Tapsoba.
Should happen without selling him. And if that's how the money is being spent then we are in big troubleSell Kane and get Micky and Tapsoba.
I think anyone who does not think we will sign a quality CB needs to seek help.
Bassey has been absolutely terrible for Ajax, their fans couldn’t wait to get rid of him,
Probably reading into it all too much, but I'm starting to wonder if there was a point 2-3 weeks ago when, following Kane's return and some choice conversations (maybe Kane outright rejecting the big contract offer), Ange and Levy agreed that it was in our interests to cash in and, therefore, put all transfers on hold while they sorted out the new budget? My point being, there is seemingly no list we are working down, no other links, no other players we seem to be interested in. It’s all ground to a halt.
I think we do know . It shouldn’t make a difference. If you know who you want and you’re serious: go and get them.Probably reading into it all too much, but I'm starting to wonder if there was a point 2-3 weeks ago when, following Kane's return and some choice conversations (maybe Kane outright rejecting the big contract offer), Ange and Levy agreed that it was in our interests to cash in and, therefore, put all transfers on hold while they sorted out the new budget?
Felt like there was lots of noise surrounding deals then the minute Kane joined the group and met Ange all transfer activity instantly dried up.
In reality, we're probably just an unorganised rabble behind the scenes and the lack of CB is more down to general incompetence, but you never know.

Because he ain't good enough. We all knew we needed new CB's better than what we had at the club last year and he was at the club last year so what's the point of bringing him back. Had he been our player there would be others to get rid of before him but he wasn't so that's why he was the first to go but that doesn't mean he's worth bringing back. He just wouldn't be the upgrade we need. Why the dread and animosity towards Lenglet returning?! Barring Romero he's better than every CB at the club right. now.
And his experience at being a regular for Barca and Sevilla means he's well suited to the system Ange wants to play anyway.
Given how bad our defence looked last season he was actually one of our better defenders. I can't believe some fans are turning our nose up at a top level who may be freely available. While ruing the fact we might miss out on a player who played regularly for a relegated side last year.
Given the possibility that we may lose three key leaders from the squad in HL, PH, and HK I hope Lenglet comes back.
That point in time also coincides with Munn not taking up his role when he should have. Maybe it’s all been abandoned already and Levy has taken over the reigns?
Looks to me like Levy didn’t want any interference, with so many players (including Kane) moving. That point in time also coincides with Munn not taking up his role when he should have. Maybe it’s all been abandoned already and Levy has taken over the reigns?
So many pages of rage to read since yesterday, i can't be bothered to go through them all - hopefully there are still a few people dealing in reality rather than just jumping on the blame Levy bandwagon, so for them i'll repost what i wrote over a month ago about Tosin (and which i have mentioned again in several other posts in this thread).I'd like us to sign Tosin as a back up to Romero, imo he's a decent player who'd be a step up on the current version of Davinson Sanchez, and as someone pointed out earlier he'd get plenty of game time in the run up to International fixtures.
However, my Fulham supporting friends seem to think the reason why he's looking to leave is for more regular game time, even though he got something like 25 starts last season, so that could be a problem.
Now i'm sure the chance to double his wages might alter his thinking, but if that is correct then we might find it hard to convince him to join us over a smaller club where he'd be first choice.
He definitely has pace. He's not romero aggressive (who is?) but he's decent at winning duels. Has higher duel winning percentages than all of our centre backs including romero.
He's good at covering whilst romero is a more front foot defender.
No they wouldn’t, he’s levels below any single one of their cbs. There much better than most to be fair. But if Lenglet played for City and played quite regularly they would still win the league.
He wouldn’t get ahead of Laporte who can’t get a game. There much better than most to be fair. But if Lenglet played for City and played quite regularly they would still win the league.
