IIRC after Chelscum hijacked Willian the ITK seemed to dry up. Probably didn't want another hijacking to be successful. I'll just take whatever else comes, this has been the best TW ever AFAIAC!

Well that sucks about Coentrao. Not sure who we could realistically get at left back now. I doubt anyone is willing to sell a top quality left back this late in the window.

I wonder if we will be able to get any players from Real Madrid now. I thought he was the most realistic.

Although I can live with what we have. I just hope that Ekotto and Adebayor can perform the way we know they both can.

Can't see why Coentrao would want to stay and you'd think we should be able to get him easy enough, seems strange for Ancelotti to mention it...

Unfortunately at Madrid, the manager's word means nothing. Perez would happily gut the team if he thought it could get him another galactico or 3.
I'll take that as gospel... Of course, AVB said Bale isn't going anywhere earlier in the window too. :)

All of our signings apart from Eriksen are available for the NLD.

As is Gareth Bale.

Reading the Mirror article and although it is the Mirror a loan deal for Coentrao might actually work for all parties. Maybe that is what Ancelotti means by him reamining a Madrid player. Coentrao may not be completely sold on signing for us yet but if we make the Champions League he may be more willing to sign.

I thought Eriksen signed in time to play?

Also I don't want Coentrao on loan. Permanent or nothing, pointless just solving the LB problem for a season whilst stopping Rose developing.

Yet if we sign a player it stops Rose developing long term so your point doesn't really make sense.

Even if Coentrao is loaned and does not sign then maybe Rose would be ready to step up. I just want the best team possible this season so we can try and get back into the Champions League (maybe win a trophy as well).

I can't believe how little ITK there at the moment, even allowing for the Willian saga.

The only way it makes sense is if it's a loan to a perm dependent on us qualifying for the cl. From coentrao's pov it would make sense as we seem his best offer this summer and if we flop he's got a get out, he should be playing for a cl team really

Said before Ancelotti doesn't control who stays or goes, if the board don't want someone at Real Madrid they sanction it without the blessing of the manager so I would take Ancelotti's comments with a pinch of salt.
