donnarumma is one we need to watch for either this window or the next. his contract expires next season? we wouldn't need a gk for 12 yrs if we got him. to think he's still 20-21
Yeah, if he's good him and Aarons would allow us to sell Aurier, that would be fantastic.I'm really warming to the idea of getting that Ngaku on a free.
Seems to have made a big impression in his 4 starts in the Prem so far. Would allow us to use our finances on other positions.

Ngakia of West Ham, his contract is up this summer.Sorry who are you referring to?
I don't care if he's a Wes Brown/John O'Shea type signing. Every team needs them and they did a great job at UTD. If he frees up Lo Celso and Ndombele them that is another huge added bonus.I'm torn on Hojbjerg.
On the one hand he's a PL proven, natural leader with an excellent fitness record who would fill a key position.
But on the other hand he looks a bit pedestrian and strikes me as more of a functional "Wes Brown/John O Shea" type signing, rather than a pivotal signing that will solve our DM issues long term. When we were after Schneiderlin and Wanyama the majority of the fans on SaintsWeb were absolutely gutted. None of them seem too bothered about losing Hojbjerg.
In the current market beggars can't be choosers and maybe he's the best we can get for our price range, unless we somehow unearthed another Kante from Ligue 2. I guess Hojbjerg with Skipp as an understudy wouldn't be too shabby.
I agree with that to an extent, but you don't want your Wes Browns and John O'Sheas to be your 1st choice options, the ones you are relying on to play week in/week out. Those guys did a job at Utd and were important, but the real reason they won every trophy under the sun was because they had the likes of Rio, Vidic and Keane ahead of them in the pecking order.I don't care if he's a Wes Brown/John O'Shea type signing. You do make a good point but I feel his signing will provide freedom and I would say he's better than the players you mentioned but I do agree with elements of what you're saying.I agree with that to an extent, but you don't want your Wes Browns and John O'Sheas to be your 1st choice options, the ones you are relying on to play week in/week out. Well, I think you bring in Ngakia and if somebody pays for Aurier you then look to bring in another.Yeah, if he's good him and Aarons would allow us to sell Aurier, that would be fantastic.
In reality we probably wont be able to bring in a "Keane" or "Vidic" this summer so yeah maybe a Hojbjerg would be the best bet for now.You do make a good point but I feel his signing will provide freedom and I would say he's better than the players you mentioned but I do agree with elements of what you're saying.

It’s not overly relevant to the debate, but Wes Brown is one of the most underrated players I’ve seen. In 2007-08 he was one of the best right backs in Europe as United won the PL and CL, and more than played his part in that legendary defence alongside Ferdinand, Vidic and Evra. After that season injuries played their part and he was never the same, but I always find it strange to see him being compared to the likes of O’Shea and Phil Neville. A peak Wes Brown would be absolutely perfect for us right now.I don't care if he's a Wes Brown/John O'Shea type signing. Every team needs them and they did a great job at UTD. Completely relevant, my point was they did a great job for UTD and you've only highlighted that point further. It’s not overly relevant to the debate, but Wes Brown is one of the most underrated players I’ve seen. To be fair to Phil Neville, he did a pretty good job as a DM for Everton. It’s not overly relevant to the debate, but Wes Brown is one of the most underrated players I’ve seen. Mate, the reality is he isn't particularly rated there, and never was. This isn't sour apples, he is average and that doesn't mean it would be a bad signing, but people are making him out to be something special or good. If we are signing him to be a starter, something has gone seriously wrong. He isn't even close to good enough. We would actually almost be better off going in for schneiderlin who at least has shown something more at Southampton.I remember them saying they weren't fussed about losing toby though either so I don't think it's the best barometer.
IIRC a fair share of them massively rated Toby - it was more just sour grapes in that case and a few of them decided he was average as soon as it was clear he was leaving.I remember them saying they weren't fussed about losing toby though either so I don't think it's the best barometer.

How good is Edouard? A lot of talk about him this summer ...I've said it before and I'll say it again, Hojbjerg would be such an underrated signing! He is the leader we are crying out for in the middle of the park and he would give so much more freedom to Ndombele and Lo Celso. If we could bring Edouard in from Celtic, that is our midfield and attack sorted in two purchases. Then we could solely focus on strengthening our defence which is clearly our biggest weakness.
