What happened to David Brooks from Bournemouth? I know he had an injury but has he played any games at all this season?

Would it be a good time to go back in?

Good shout, before he got injured he looked like he was going to the top. Great left foot, good mover and change of pace. Could be a clever signing if Bournemouth are struggling for money. I can’t remember what his injury was now but he’s been out for a long time.

Now that Super Mario is effectively a free agent, surely it’s time for the dream pairing of Mourinho and Balotelli to get back together, get on like a house on fire and blow all their detractors away!

Someone created an account just to mark this with a WTF?!

The plus is that it sounds like he’s always known that, which allays one of the fears that he was going to go ape shit if we didn’t spend any money. I think he will be happy, like all of us, if we just address the problem areas.

We might not spend lots but I’m expecting a relatively high turnover of players. It won’t have escaped his (or levy’s notice) that some of the squad have deteriorated more than he was expecting when he joined.

He may be onboard with Levy's purchasing strategy but we still need to get over the hurdle of Levy's selling strategy.

People wanking over Liverpool and Chelsea's transfer business but they both had to sell their best player to achieve this. Either we sell Kane or Son and re-invest or we keep them and work around having less money to spend.

Why does no one mention this when they mention the teams around us strengthening? Probably the most overlooked reason as to why they have improved so much in terms of transfers.

Plus both teams spend the most on agents fees. That shouldn’t be overlooked.

What happens if we purchase a good DM and it somehow does not fix all our problems?

It seems to me that we are all so fixated on this position I can only imagine the anarchy in this place if we buy someone and it doesn't magically fix all our problems.

Don't get me wrong, I am in the same boat and I really think we will improve vastly if we get in a proper DM, I just don't want to have months and months of bitching and moaning if it fails. We need to improve in a few areas.

DM is only one of the massive problems our squad have, although being the most crucial one
fullbacks, cover/competition for kane, another playmaker, successor of lloris and verts etc

This is very true to be honest. It sucks to see it but helps when you do remind yourself of this. It will still be a shame if we don't add to this group of players, irrespective of what others have done. You just have to think and hope that if we do lose Kane, we make a statement in how we reinvest.

Thing is just a DM won't fix all our problems, it will only set us on our way. In all honesty, our whole back line is questionable to a degree. I think 2 fullbacks and a CB are very much needed too.

DM Wont fix all our problems we need a competent right back as well! If we could get DM a right back and Back up for Kane in the next window then I think that will be successful transfer window for players coming in.

I agree. But we absolutely have to nail it. We cant get any of them wrong. That's quite a big ask.
