If Traore falls through?

TOTTENHAM INTERESTED IN AOUAR

Tottenham are interested in signing Lyon attacking midfielder Houssem Aouar.

Sky Sports News has learnt informal talks have been held with Aouar’s representatives.

Aouar has two years left on his Lyon contract and wants to weigh up all his options before deciding on his future.

Aouar’s preference is to play Champions League football and he is aware he may have more options this time next summer.

(In response to the above)

Nope we want both

The Traore stuff is very real he wants to come , nuno wants to partner him with son and Kane badly , par also supports

we are talking with wolves

the 3 deals I have confidence in are this , sarr with him going back on loan and tomasu , we rate tomasu very highly we think he has a high ceiling so I believe it will get done

I’d suggest any more than this depends on us shifting the Tanguy / aurrier / sissoko

Harry Kane is believed to have accepted that he will stay at Tottenham Hotspur this summer and is looking to the season ahead, football.london understands.

It has been a summer of speculation for the England captain with stories galore about a potential move to Premier League champions Manchester City.

Kane is believed to have been keen on a fresh challenge and the chance to link up with Pep Guardiola's men, however the interest from the Manchester club has not been enough to test Spurs' resolve to keep the current holder of the Premier League's Golden Boot and Playmaker awards.

So far City are believed to have only made a bid of £75m plus £25m in add-ons and Spurs chairman Daniel Levy has not been shaken from his intention to keep the north London's club's second highest goalscorer of all time.

Kane returned from his summer holidays this month and following the mandatory five-day isolation at The Lodge hotel at Hotspur Way he returned to training.

At first he worked on his fitness with the sports science staff, missing the first two games of the season against Manchester City and Pacos de Ferreira, the latter in the Europa Conference League play-offs.

He rejoined full training with the squad and Spurs head coach Nuno Espirito Santo included him in the squad that travelled to Wolves on Sunday.

Kane came off the bench for the final 15 minutes of the encounter and was well received by the thousands of travelling Tottenham fans.

Espirito Santo has publicly stated that the striker has been training well and Kane could be seen encouraging his team-mates from the bench before coming on at Molineux.

He was denied a goal on his return by a Jose Sa save and picked up a late yellow card for time-wasting as he attempted to help secure the three points for Tottenham.

At the final whistle he walked over to the travelling Spurs faithful to applaud them after they had voiced their support of him amid less complimentary chants from the home crowd.

He also embraced Espirito Santo at the final whistle and shook hands with Spurs' new managing director of football Fabio Paratici.

Tottenham are confident of keeping hold of their star player in the remaining six days of the transfer window, particular with the time required to bring in replacement players now unrealistic even if City do return with a much bigger bid.

Tottenham’s Hotspur’s bid to sign Adama Traoré has suffered a blow with Wolverhampton Wanderers standing firm in their desire to keep the winger.

Spurs have targeted Traoré after accelerating talks this week and had hoped to structure a loan deal with a view to a permanent move.

Wolves immediately rejected an initial proposal of a loan deal that included a £5 million loan fee and are adamant they do not want to sell the Spain international this summer.

Traoré is viewed as a key player under new head coach Bruno Lage and integral to their future. Negotiations over a new contract will advance when the transfer window closes.

When asked after the Carabao Cup victory at Nottingham Forest if he expects Traoré to stay, Lage said: “Yes, I think so, we want to create a strong side, a better side to be competitive.

“We need competition for a long Premier League season and the League Cup, if players are not fit we need people to come in for them.”

Traoré has two years remaining on his contract and was believed to have been interested in following his former head coach Nuno Espirito Santos to Spurs, but that has not changed the Wolves stance.

It remains to be seen whether or not Spurs try to test that resolve again before the transfer window shuts, but the news of Wolves’ unwillingness to negotiate will come as a blow to Nuno.

The Portuguese is a huge fan of Traoré and wanted the former Barcelona youngster to provide greater pace and adaptability to his squad.

Tottenham are still hoping to do business before the closure of the transfer window, having agreed a £14.6m deal for 18-year-old Pape Matar Sarr, who is expected to be loaned back to Metz for the season.

The north London club are also still seeking a deal to offload midfielder Tanguy Ndombele, who had attracted some interest from Bayern Munich, and would listen to offers for right-back Serge Aurier.

Moriba talk is real. Reading some of the latest Leipzig stuff on his thread, I inquired and was told, which I suspected anyway, his agents (greedy fckrs) are the ones driving this, and his father. I back track on something I said yesterday. It is this; at 18 year old s package of 40m inclusive fee, fees, and fees, before wages. f-off!!!

Alasdair Gold:

Sarr
Tottenham are in the final stages of tying up a deal for 18-year-old Metz midfielder Pape Matar Sarr, with the medical expected to take place in France once personal terms are finalised.

The teenager will remain with the French club for the coming season in order to develop there.

It was a deal that Paratici and Tottenham felt they had to grab with both hands, including the loan, in order to secure one of Europe's brightest young prospects ahead of a number of other top clubs. Those inside the club have compared it to the move for Dele Alli back in 2015.

Moriba
The same scenario is the case for Ilaix Moriba, Barcelona's 18-year-old midfield sensation, with Tottenham feeling it's just too good an opportunity to turn down as they look to try to secure one of the game's top young players.

For Tottenham, Moriba would be a player for the now, albeit competing in a busy midfield, even with the departure of Sissoko.

The move for Moriba is still at a delicate stage, with plenty of big clubs across Europe, including Chelsea, looking at what would be a bargain buy of less than £20m for one of Europe's top young players.

Traore/ Striker
Espirito Santo and Paratici's desire to bring in Adama Traore from Wolves is currently proving to be more difficult by the day as the Midlands club look to keep the winger.

football.london understands that Traore's arrival would have been rather than signing another striker, with Son Heung-min pushing up to be more of a regular front man alongside Kane.

If Traore is deemed off the table then that could see Spurs return to looking at strikers, although moves for Dusan Vlahovic and Lautaro Martinez have thus far run aground.

Tomiyasu
If Aurier does depart then Tottenham will attempt to sign a right-back, with Takehiro Tomiyasu, with his ability to play on the right and in the centre of a defence, a long-term summer target.

Ndombele/ CAM
The same goes for a creative attacking midfielder if Tanguy Ndombele were to get his wish to move fulfilled this summer, although the chances of someone matching Spurs' valuation of their £60m club record signing remain slim at this point.

Centre Back:
Tottenham did also want to sign another new centre-back as well as Romero, however the current numbers in the position make that difficult. Even Cameron Carter-Vickers, who was expected to leave this summer, may have had his chances of a move scuppered by his ankle injury last week.
