Ndombele, LoCelso, Dele Rodon have contributed next to nothing for 2 seasons.
So, I dont mind seeing them go out. Even if 2 of the 4 have decent seasons in the new clubs, that would help us get a better fee.

Question though, who replaces them in squad

Nobby Noone and Freddie Fuckall - promising lads both of them

Llorente was decent, but it's a shame that he could have done so much more for us. Hopefully we won't go balls out for Vlahovic and then have him sat around for a season having his soul sucked dry coming on a 85 mins.

Llorente was a good player in many ways, but his skillset was not suited to Poch’s game plan. MP wanted his strikers to press, which Llorente simply was not able to do.

Point is, we don't need to replace 4 with 4 - for example, if all we got in was Traore and say, Renato Sanches, it would have an instant impact on the first team. If the players you mentioned didn't feature in the remaining games we would barely even notice.

We need quality rather than quantity now.

Have West Ham, Arsenal or Man Utd strengthened? Are they not also going for the same 4th spot? It's the January window, there is a week to go yet, it's easy enough and possibly fair to point to previous windows but as stated numerous times we are under a different model now when it comes to transfers, its not like FP just flashes £20m at Wolves and he becomes a Spurs player, selling club, buying club and player all have to be aligned, if any one of them has a doubt or needs a replacement etc then the deal stalls, we have had enough years of getting to understand this, keep faith we will make signings this month i am sure.
Totally agree with all of your post... But the key word in my post was hoping. ?

If we continue to play 3-4-3 we need 4 CMs in the first team squad. Winks, Skipp, Højbjerg and one other will suffice for the rest of this season.

ITK suggests Kessie and McKennie are potential targets. We can offload Dele, Lo Celso and Ndombele this window with no problems as long as we get 1 CM in.

Similar with Rodon - surplus as not trusted. Romero, Dier, Davies are currently first choice. Sanchez and Tanganga appear to be the trusted deputies. So we do not need another CB this window if the likes of De Vrij and Romagnoli are available in the summer, the latter on a free (and a left footer).

Yeah as much as some might worry about depth or not replacing them, Tanguy and Dele don't get near a matchday squad these days anyway, and GLC will come back from the international break with an international break, so it won't make much difference. At most, they'd have a cameo in the FA Cup.
Ideally we'd replace them as it's silly not to - but if we do, then they're essentially adding to the squad, not replacing (if that makes sense)

You could move on all five and it would barely touch the sides.
At this point I’d even consider moving Tanganga on before Doherty, because with Adama playing rwb you could play Emerson at rcb at a push if needed.
Then one more in midfield, and ideally another striker and the squad has a much better balance to it.

The really depressing part is that Ndombele and Lo Celso were absolutely the right buys at the time.

That both have failed so utterly doesn't exactly fill you with confidence about ANY signing we might make. I guess it just makes it more important that we get whoever Conte asks for no matter the cost. Then its on him.

Not really on Conte. Its down to the player surely and when or whether they adapt and their motivation.

Agree that the signings have been underwhelming we did try.

If anything just means that there is no correlation between success and transfer fee paid.

I don’t even put it down to that. It’s mainly down to absolutely shocking scouting imvho.

Its quite obvious they are nor were the right buys at any time, just as it is quite obvious whoever scouted them did not do due diligence or even their basic job in any shape or form. Ndombele has and always had fitness issues, never mind the attitude problems and Lo Celso is clearly not cut out for the premiership. They are right up there with our worst signings ever, in fact considering what they cost and what we stand to lose on them they are ,in my opinion, our very worst signings and I cannot wait to see the back of the pair of them.
