The fabled "Transfer List"

Does such a list actually exist? And has one ever existed?

Don't clubs just left other clubs know that the players are available? Or their agents are told to find their players a new club?

There is a system which all clubs are connected to tell if a player is available

I often wondered if it was a tangible list but have since established there isn't.

I always assumed you have to register a players availability with the Pl/FA on some kind of database? Hence the term transfer list.

Well I was always able to access a transfer list on FM

I think we had some ITK at the start of the summer saying AVB sat down with each member of squad an explained if they remained part of his plans or should start looking for new clubs. So I guess there would be a tangible list of players that were available.

The clubs have a system which like transfer market website mixed with a fm transfer list and every club has this system I've seen it but can't remember what is called

Thanks but not sure if that link is correct as it doesn't show any players transfer listed who play in the premier league (e.g Benoit should supposedly be on there).

However I did notice that Dean Parrett is out of contract now - Wonder if we are planning to negotiate a new one??

It seems judging from the replies above opinion seems to differ as to whether a list or system actually exists, yet if one did exist them I'm surprised this hasn't become public. Would certainly clarify if a player asks to be transfer listed (i.e Suarez) whether the club actually has to put them on.

I doubt there's an actual database with players names in it. If there was we'd surely know about it by now. Im sure the way it works is a team will contact another team directly and ask if they have any "transfer listed" players available and it goes from there
